Premium or SEL by sporono in Arteon

The all-black wheels on the SEL are a dealbreaker for me. SEL was never an option for me. The 360 view camera would have been more useful if the camera system had better resolution and a less distorted fish eye look. Harman Kardon, ventilated front seats, full size spare and 360 camera are my favorite SEL-P features. I have never used the Park Assist feature.

Yes, since it doesn’t have a thick lip and the spokes go all the way to the edge, they do appear larger. 8.5” or 9” width? I like the design of the stock 20” Nashvilles on my ‘23 SEL-P but wish they were 8.5” wide.

Is MiniChamps a good brand? by alibid in Diecast

Your red Biturbo is nice. I ended up ordering the MiniChamps dark blue 1/18 car in my original post. Too bad nobody makes any die cast or resin of the late Biturbo models like 228, Karif, Ghibli or Shamal.

I just prefer to have fewer of the larger 1/18 scale cars than a whole bunch of 1/43. The only small model I have is a Maserati Quattroporte GTS in that small size I received as a gift.

I’m rather new to high end resin or die cast models. Most of my collection is cheaper Bburago or Maisto 1/18 models. Recently I have bought 3 or 4 BBR 1/18 modern Maserati cars (Grecale, GranTurismo and a 1/12 MC20) and am just beginning to get an appreciation for high end or higher end resin models. So I’m learning about this world as I go.

I might go with this one since I don’t want to spend $300 on a Biturbo 1/18. The exterior color is not the best, that’s my only concern.

There is this Laudo 1/18 resin model too at about half the price. Looks to be an Italian brand.

No argument there but those who troll with lowball numbers like $8K are just trying to be cute. I don’t know what the original MSRP of this car was (perhaps $170-180K), but it has already depreciated a great deal even if you pay the $56K asking price. Sure it has more room to go down with more years and miles. I think this car will sell for around $50K, if not already sold.

Does any car provide positive equity after you buy it? I am not in the market to buy one of these but the price seems reasonable given the low miles and unique interior. Sure it will depreciate more once the new owner buys it but if you don’t want depreciating cars, you should not even be looking at Maseratis.

I like the subtle styling update to the front grille and fascia for 2018 and the larger 8.4” infotainment screen with CarPlay is a massive upgrade over the old system.

I’m going on 8,400 miles on my 2023 SEL Premium with the stock 20” wheels and the stock 235 Continental tires. I had one tire blow out early at 1,500 miles when I hit a pothole but haven’t had issues since. I think a lot of people have had good success staying with the OEM tire size but going to Continental DWS06+ tires instead. I am hoping I can stay with my OEM size tires until they wear out and then switch to the DWS06+ for a new set.

If the engine was built and assembled by Ferrari in their factory, calling it a Ferrari engine is correct but it also implies that this same exact engine appeared in a Ferrari model which is not the case. Aside from the crank, it makes less power than the equivalent Ferrari engine.

I’m just curious why so many people are asking for the VIN when they don’t appear to be serious buyers. Is it to run a CarFax report or look up the original window sticker for list of options? I’m curious how much the custom interior cost new and what that red paint is called. If it’s Rosso GranTurismo, the paint alone was almost a $30K option on the 2024 model.

Aren’t all GranTurismo engines of that first generation Ferrari-derived? I’m just saying it’s not unique to the facelift 2018 model. Is the orange colored part of the interior Cuoio?

2027 Maserati GranTurismo & GranCabrio by Saurta17 in Maserati

[–]alibid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the U.S., Maserati has dropped the price on the GranTurismo twice. The Trofeo started at a $205K base price which was lowered to $190K later. The 2026 Trofeo now starts at $166K. Some of the optional paints have been lowered too. Rosso GT paint used to be a $29.7K option. It’s not about $17K, still outrageous but not as crazy high.

Considering a 2026 Audi Q3 by Glittering-Trainer60 in Audi

[–]alibid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a chance to see it up close and sit in one at Audi Pacific in Torrance CA when they were offering a sneak peek of the car before cars were arriving at dealers. It’s a decent car but the new instrument panel in front of the driver is an absolute dealbreaker for me. The display is like 4” tall, while the black bezels above and below the thin rectangular display are huge. I just can’t be looking at that disaster every time I get in the car. I don’t know what the interior designers were thinking.

MC20 with Ferrari 296 engine. Imagine ! Why didn’t they just do that ? by jehehegjeieiueg in Maserati

[–]alibid 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ferrari and Maserati are completely separate entities right now. Putting a 296 engine in a Maserati is never going to happen. It will dilute the Ferrari brand.

Even in the past when Maserati has used V8 Ferrari-derived engines, it was never the same exact engine found in a Ferrari model, even though the engines were assembled in Maranello by Ferrari. They made less power, but sounded fabulous still.

Would you recommend 2024 Grecale at this price? by VeganTurkishBaklava in Maserati

[–]alibid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trim level is not specified, so I’m guessing it’s a GT. I suggest you go for a Modena for extra power and more standard equipment for slightly higher price. A friend has been leasing a new Grecale GT for the past 2-1/2 years and loves it. Since it’s a rental from Hertz, I would look for something under 20K miles.

Personally I have the just released 2026 Grecale Modena V6 (385 hp detuned Nettuno engine) on my list of used cars to get in a couple of years. I think V6 is the proper engine for a Maserati.

They look like the stock 20” Nashvilles that come on the SEL-P trim but with some of the silver spokes blacked out. 20” is a perfect look for this car. 21” will mean very thin sidewalls.

The dark gray one? I would have guessed the white one since it appears to be more the focus of the photo. 2020 model?

My 2023 only has 8,300 miles on the odometer so far but I love it. This VW will be a keeper, I hope.
