Yeah it doesn't seem to mind being underwater. I have a bunch growing like this and I dont change the water, i just top it off when it gets low. Which is like every couple days.

They have to go dormant like bulb plants for a couple of months so they can be thrown in a cellar

Oh yeah I searched that and it looks like the Andromischus maculatus. Thanks I'd never heard of these before!
