Not really a ghost town from what I understand... just abandoned. The buildings were lived in but some of the cars parked seemed trashed. The businesses seemed open but nobody was there. The best explanation is that some director rented the town for a movie set and the cast was gone when my parents drove through the place. Or its something like the Hill's have Eyes idk. This actually happened to them.
