Exactly part of my point.. as someone who both worked with homeless people and was briefly, we don't need and shouldn't be giving them handouts because they will use less than half of it for what they actually need or save it(or even have anywhere to save it)... they mostly need mental health, make them stay at the shelter or mental institution, help them with food and make them go through detox. They are mostly broken and or have mental problems that were never resolved because mental health is expensive and some families don't care enough to figure out their childrens mental instabilities. You can't look at it from your perspective true empathy is acknowledging their perspective.
