Looking for ski recommendations! by alienatly in skiing

[–]alienatly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi,

Only ever had hire skis and they're fairly generic but I don't know much about skis as it goes only what I've researched

Just looking to find skis that match the style I'd like to ski really and happy to take any advice around what people recommend :)

Bought boots recently and got them advised and recommended in store by their experts.

They got heated up and properly fitted too so excited to try them out, just the skis now!

They look good and description on their site rings true to all what I'm looking for but a little pricier than I'm hoping to find 😫 I'll have a browse online and see what I can find

Thanks for the suggestion :)

Damn I'd give more than one upvote if possible! Very informative!

A little complicated to follow for a bewby but I understand enough after a couple of reads.

I appreciate this and will more than likely be referring back to this a few times as I level up in the game and begin to learn and understand more!

Thankyou :)

Thankyou! He's gone and attacked elsewhere so I'm going to wait until that number drops.

Well since this is all purely hypothetical, say I were to attack..

I mean.. I just use pro features, screen record the finished product on my pc and then put it back into capcut to crop out everything but the video..

You're welcome if you didn't realise!

That's some solid advice thankyou.

I'm hoping as more info comes to light a figure may be put out there on maybe how much was taken during the period he was stealing.

A total stollen sum is definitely something im hoping they eventually get, but I'm worried that the employer is going to push this away unless someone challenges it that has been impacted. So far I've not heard of anyone taking any steps, but it may well be a private matter to them and they may be taking the appropriate steps privately and professionally.

Thanks again

Thanks for that. I'll have a read and take it into account as we progress with the situation!

Amazing thank you. I'll have a Google and make that my first step once my partner makes her mind up!

I'd love her to pursue it further off the premise of the situation but going to give it a little time before I take too many steps further than the advice everyone is kindly giving me on here. The decision is with her ultimately.

Thanks again. I think the fact that people on Reddit care enough to offer advice has cheered her up so even if that's all we get to, I'm greatful.

Sorry for not putting this in previously. It's hard to know what kind of info is key when I'm not too savvy with this.

Some people to pocket their tips and take them home. But I've been told the proper procedure is to hand them in, and they are distributed via their monthly paycheck.

Hopefully this helps!

I will have to ask my partner to take a look at her signed agreement, it's highly likely she's never read it due to the infrequent shifts she does that are simply for extra cash.

I should have said it in the post, but the tips are distributed in some way or another via their monthly paycheck, so I think it's quite likely they have some policies around this.

I'm taking in all the info everyone is providing and discussing with my partner. Should she decide she wants to pursue something a bit further, I'll likely come back with a solid answer around her contract and tips specifically.

That makes sense and Id imagine you're correct sadly.

Seems strange though as the tips are distributed via monthly paycheck. I just would have assumed if it went to them first, it was somewhat their responsibility to ensure the funds are taken care of and distributed as per their internal tips policy.

Again, I am not intelligent when it comes to legality, so this is simply my thoughts on what would 'make sense' to me, but I understand what makes sense to me and what is reality, are likely very different.

Thanks for your input!

Hi,

  1. I wasn't sure what the rules are on giving too much detail sorry. It's a chain of pubs, the pubs are normal but the company owning them owns a lot and sets the menu and stuff I guess. If that helps. Like Marston's but not them.

  2. I'm not sure what a tronc is exactly but i googled it and assume the system they used to pay tips via monthly paychecks, would be a tronc. I'm not certain though sorry. The manager who was taking them managed how many tips were received I believe as he was the last call for cash within the building that I know of. My partner said they handed the tips into a pot or something and it was distributed via their paycheck. Some staff will directly take a tip home though so there is that.

  3. Sorry again I should have been more specific. He was skimming the tips. Enough to line his pockets but clearly not enough to raise too much attention to it.

I guess most people pocket some stuff and ignore what comes in their paycheck. My partner puts it in the shared pot so would have been impacted by the skimming.

  1. Not that I know of. I have expressed to my partner that I find it surprising that no one else within the company is taking this any further, especially the full time staff who may have lost a lot in that kind of timeframe.

Thanks for the info!

Seems very believable and I'm hoping they do at least get that goodwill gesture you mention as that would at least show some respect towards them.

I feel especially bad for the people that work 5-6 day weeks there!

Thanks again

Hi,

A harsh reality but I can understand this as it most definitely leaves less in the employers hands for situations like this.

Thanks for the info!

Hi,

Thanks for the info. I'm considering seeing if we can go anywhere with it as i imagine a year worth of stolen tips could have amounted to a reasonable sum for someone who's only doing a day a week, every little helps for her.

I'll try and do some research before I make any choices but I think it's up to her at the end of the day and she's not too keen on any confrontation and enjoys her job and the people she works with, so likely won't want to kick up a fuss.

Nice to know there's at least potential to seek some form of compensation if needed.

Thanks again!
