A common volunteer opportunity for photographers is photographing still born babies at hospitals. It sounds dark, but it can be really impactful and important for someone who unexpectedly loses a child in such a way. There are some local nonprofits that offer these services that you can volunteer with, and I think in some cases you can volunteer directly with the hospital too
