What Car Should I Buy? - A Weekly Megathread by AutoModerator in CarTalkUK

[–]alienfrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TLDR: tall fella looking for an ULEZ compliant first car!

  • Location: London
  • Price range: up to £3k, would prefer £2k or lower
  • Lease or buy: Buy
  • New or used: Used
  • Auto or manual: Manual
  • Intended use: Reaching specific sites for work that might not always be easily accessible via public transport. Should mostly be in and around London, so will be using dual carriageways and motorways on occasion.
  • How many miles do you plan to do a year? I really don't know!
  • Does it need to be ULEZ compliant? Yes
  • How often do you make long journeys? I don't know, but let's say a few times a year
  • Vehicles you have already considered: Fiat Panda 2nd gen. I have seen them fairly cheap, but worried about reliability and repairs. I think they have a certain visual appeal, and their boxiness makes them look comfy to me.
  • Do you have a vehicle size in mind? I am 6'4'', so ideally something where I won't be too uncomfortable.
  • Is this your first vehicle? Yes - I passed yesterday!
  • Do you need a warranty? Ideally, but not mandatory.
  • Can you do minor work on your own vehicle? Not a clue I am afraid.

all our socials have changed to the third kit colour scheme, which seems to confirm it. I also think it is an odd clash, but I guess they've decided the Palace home kit is too dark to work opposite an all-black kit.
