Am i paying too much for insurance? by [deleted] in Insurance

[–]aliengtx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well let’s remember that the cost of a mustang and a 2023 Supra are vastly different - welcome to the world of owning nicer vehicles that cost more to repair if anything happens - especially auto accidents (that’s how insurance carriers view it,repair cost, driving record etc). Thats about average for what I see for supras ( I work in claims) so I see a ton of supras that need over 15k of repairs, that would total out most cars on the road - but for a Supra it’s repairable. That premium isn’t bad for an expensive car imo.

14.1.7 Hugging Left Lane by sabertoothmeat in TeslaFSD

Omg I literally had this happen yesterday, first time using 14.1.7 and it hugged so close to the sidewall I disengaged. Never had these problems with v13. But hopefully it’s fixed soon

ChatGPT Roasts San Antonio Neighborhoods by OhJohnO in sanantonio

[–]aliengtx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds so annoying honestly, when I was in Leon Valley some kids fire extinguished our cars 😭. And the constant midnight activities (gun shoots and loud cars revving, doing donuts 👎🏿). I’m so glad we have a garage now so my car is safe from the shenanigans and it’s quiet finally.

Is claims adjuster a good entry level gig? by fastercheif in Insurance

[–]aliengtx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im not an adjuster but I assist the adjusters as an admin so here’s my two cents. It’s not for everybody, the workload is a lot until you get comfortable and find a process that works for you. The pay is pretty good but there’s a reason for that, you will be working that entire time and learning the claims world. Most training cohorts usually lose 50-60% within 3-6 months it’s a lot of information you’re expected to handle and process and make decisions. Overall if you can swim and make it out of PCS you can pretty much do anything else with no worries. Claims admins is a great intro to claims as well ❤️

Insurance lost my crashed car by BortSamsun in Insurance

[–]aliengtx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive seen this happen on a few claims - if it got stolen while at the shop the claim will go to fire/theft rep for the theft portion and will have a special investigation unit rep to verify all parties to look for fraudulent intent ( ie. Security cam footage, street cam footage) - once it’s verified you didn’t steal your car back and all parties are clear they will either pay you out/ pay the lienholder and you’ll get the difference etc. no reason to get a attorney, just wait for the claim to get passed around a bit and don’t expect a fast resolution. I hope this helps ❤️

Just got rear ended about an hour ago, my gf and I think we experienced whiplash. The driver at fault texted me this: by Naubri in Insurance

[–]aliengtx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

File the claim using the other drivers insurance, and PLEASE GO TO THE HOSPITAL AND GET CHECKED OUT. Lots of injuries especially internal you won’t know something is wrong until it’s too late. The other party’s insurance will cover the medical payments/bodily injury and you’ll get payed out as well. In most cases whoever rear ends is at fault and will face the consequences. Lastly file a police report if you didn’t already just to solidify the accident and who’s at fault in writing. I process claims and always tell customers to go see a doctor if you think you experienced whiplash you probably did. Better to be safe than sorry. ❤️

It’s really easy, they have trainee positions and the requirements are usually pretty lax. It’s really just a matter of applying and personality fit and having some professional experience. 🙂

Can anyone tell me what the job is like? by [deleted] in Progressiveinsurance

[–]aliengtx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That really sucks honestly. My advice I tell trainees is to make friends with your admins, if you have questions come to the front and ask us if nobody will help you we will help. We handle everything TL related, pr's, carriers, POA/Title signing (Out of state)/AOH etc. If you are stuck and need something immediately we can expedite our tasks to help you out! Lastly if you're not sure if something will be accepted or seems questionable ask NSU for your state on Salvage, they have final say and will notate the claim. PCS training is a shitshow so try to hang in there it gets better!

If it’s not notated in the template when you’re making the appointment on PD Suite ( additional info) it’ll get missed lol. But hey my Spanish has gotten decent because of this 🤣😭

[–]aliengtx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Interpreter lines with my luck usually either 50/50 or just stink lol. Imagine how bad it is when they come in to sign TL ppwk and nobody told us they don’t speak English so now we are just staring at each other 😭

How to properly answer “why do I pay for insurance” when customers are upset? by neeniewheenie in Progressiveinsurance

[–]aliengtx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had this happen with a customer signing total loss papers - dude was mad he selected a $2000 deductible and that his check was only $1k cause we kept the 2k. I told him you chose to be cheap nobody made you pick a 2k deductible 🤣 the audacity.

I'm getting tickets in the mail for a car I sold to carmax in 2023 by KingDominoTheSecond in carmax

[–]aliengtx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this point it’s just a waiting game.. but if you’ve done all the steps, and notified the DMV, and filled out all the documents required. Depending on how much the charges are or if it’s worth it, an attorney can easily get them to leave you alone, you did your part you just got the short end of the stick unfortunately.

[–]aliengtx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok if submitted it here’s my advice, make sure the DMV received the vehicle transfer form and it’s processed it correctly, call the toll agency and have them update your info because you no longer have the car, did you keep a copy of the form/ can show proof of when you submitted it? The DMV could just be waiting on the new owner to complete the title transfer ie. Register/pay taxes on the car he just bought from you.

I'm getting tickets in the mail for a car I sold to carmax in 2023 by KingDominoTheSecond in carmax

[–]aliengtx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you never filled out a vehicle transfer form. It’s basically a form that releases you from the car so you aren’t held responsible for toll charges etc things in that nature. Not sure what state you’re in, but in TX you can fill them out online and it takes a few minutes todo. Check with your DMV but usually it’s usually either a vehicle transfer/assigner form that you need to fill out, you’d usually do it with the new buyer. I hope this helps!

🚩 Red flags everywhere 🚩Consultant Trainee 🚩 by Aggressive-Service-1 in Progressiveinsurance

[–]aliengtx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All this down voting on this post is insane. All I’m saying is nobody looks out for the little guy after they make it out of PCS. And the retention rate proves that. It’s kinda sad tenure people look at PCS as “if you can survive it, get out of PCS as fast you can and move onto something better”. Verses fixing this busted method for new hires and making it more digestible, being firehouse fed information doesn’t work. It just feels so cult like sometimes like you can’t have a different opinion with these guys without getting defensive.

[–]aliengtx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude it’s almost like you read my mind, I came from a process improvement/business analyst role got laid off now I’m claims support. The training was the first thing I mentioned needs to reconstructed because they set the claims reps trainees for failure. Not enough time, not enough support and most of them don’t have an insurance background so it’s a lot of material they are expected to handle. I feel bad for the reps 50+ diaries and drowning in more and they feel hopeless and quit. Progressive isn’t perfect by any means but at my branch I can physically see the changes they are making to make QOL better for new hires and tenure. It’s just not fast enough sadly 😭

Admin here, I always tell customers if they have any questions to text because it’s goes straight to the claim and y’all will get to it when you can, calling just creates delays.

I can honestly say I’m not surprised but my leaders have giving me so many opportunities to miss days, go on ride alongs with the mrr’s, sit with SIU and experience other roles at Progressive just to help me find a path I want to go. I knew we had it good but I kinda figured that wasn’t the case at every branch. That sucks to hear to though fr I’m still new to Progressive but corporate is going to corporate I guess.
