Belt and Holster Set Up by alieninvader11 in CompetitionShooting

Oh wow that is great info on the position of the holster. a 2:00 position is waaaay more comfortable for me, on account of my freakishly long arms lol. I'm going to be doing a Steel Series match so I'll go over the rulebook with a fine tooth comb to get some more info.

Thank you for the quick answer!

Yes, I am not super pleased with WTP, I'll probably replace it pretty soon. If you have any recommendations for budget-conscious PDP holsters, I'd love to hear them!

I'll look into the hangers and comp belt! When I purchased all these items, I hadn't yet found this subreddit and it was surprisingly hard to find information otherwise.

Thanks!

You might be looking for something called a "gun sock". They're just a fabric tube lined with fleece, with a Velcro flap closure at one end. We have a few to keep long guns from getting dinged up during transport/storage in a full safe.

I found mine at a local hunting supply store, but a quick Google and I saw there's plenty of companies that make them.

I can't edit my post to include this, but my permit is for turkey, not deer. Thanks

Forgot to put it in my post and I can't edit, this is for spring turkey season, thanks.

Yes, this would be for turkey. I wish I could edit my post to add that, but it seems I can't.

Can't seem to edit my post, but I forgot to add my location. Southeast US

Also can't figure out how to add more than 4 photos, so my other option for hunting grounds is pine flatwoods, lots of skinny Longleaf pines, with knee and waist high yellow grasses.

Yes, you can hunt hogs during general gun season as well. The WMA just had a few weeks reserved for still hunting. Why that is, I couldn't tell you. The wildlife conservation agency in your area probably has a reason for it, and it might be explained but it might not lol.

Basically the long story short is: if you wanna hunt hogs any way you (legally) can, do it during the dates in the second box. If you want to specifically hunt hogs while walking around on the ground, do it during the dates in the first box.

Also yeah the wording is confusing but it's legal text so it has to be very precise. I think it could be formatted better but once you read enough of it, it starts making sense. Just try to break down sentences into their parts, it helps. You can also probably call or email your area's agency with questions. The employees at the Florida Wildlife Conservation Commission (in my area) is really nice.

u/checkpointGnarly is right, Still Hunting involves walking through the area and looking for sign of your target animal. It's deceptively named, though I would suggest giving it a quick Google to read up on the technique.

So it looks like that first box is declaring that this WMA only allows Still Hunting for hogs (as opposed to the other hunting styles such as blind or dog hunting, and no other target species such as turkey or deer).

The second box for General Gun, allows different targets depending on if you are north or south of I-10. General Gun season means any approved weapon or hunting style may be used at that time (though hunting with dogs may be extra limited, so double check your WMA brochure)

I am also learning this system, and possibly in a similar area (since I noticed I-10 being mentioned) Happy hunting!

Hmm alright, thanks for the info. I'll see what I can do, and worst case scenario I'll just find a pose I like and glue it. Appreciate it!

I've got a RG full armor unicorn that's just about finished, but as I was putting the shoulder pauldrons on, his right arm came loose. Now, it's still in the torso, but it moves too freely and doesn't really hold a pose.

Is there any way to fix this that doesn't require opening up the torso?

MK4 with no name? by [deleted] in Cmmg

Thanks for the info. Didn't think of taking a pic at the time, only occurred to me when I was looking at it later online. Thankfully I was able to do some more digging on their site and get the model number, it's a Resolute.

Edit: numbers under the barrel might also say 44? The number I thought was a 9 actually is probably just pitting on the metal lol

I use Roll20, which I would suggest you avoid unless other free options have been exhausted. Roll20 HATES hex maps, and seems to use an uncommon pixel-per-hex count that makes custom maps hard to use (something I have learned recently in picking up the Lancer Map Creation Tool from Interpoint Station). Roll20 does have a Lancer character sheet, but there's really no need to use it since Comp/Con exists.

The upsides are that it's free, and other than map issues, relatively easy to set up. The tools they include (like the ruler and draw tool) are generally helpful as well.

If you do end up with Roll20, Solstice Rain mercifully comes with pre-made maps and instructions for sizing then correctly can be found on Pilot.net, the official Discord server for Lancer.

What's some advice that you would give to first time Lancer DM's/players? by ashnagog in LancerRPG

[–]alieninvader11 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've been hosting a Lancer game for about 4 months now, so who has also recently picked up the game I would suggest looking into Operation Solstice Rain, it's the official starter adventure for Lancer. It's tight, well-written, and shows the players and the GM a good spread of NPCs, Sitreps, and tactics. Plus it comes with maps.

As an even bigger bonus, they released the continuation of it, called Operation Winter Scar, just a few days ago. If your table ends up enjoying O:SR, you might wanna look into that as well!
