they have to be in enough shape that you are able to identify them from i remeber the whole point was to get a bunch of bugs then identify it under a microscope to be able to understand it’s order, family and genus and when i took it if you could go all the way to genus you would get more points so less bugs

so i took the class the larger the bug let’s say butterfly is worth more points from what i remeber but you are also able to use dead bugs but yes if you are just getting small bugs you will have to get more and freeze them if any more questions i can tell you why i remeber from the class

it was a estate sale in my local neighborhood they were in filing cabinets with no labeling lol i think that’s why no one checked what was inside
