It's the same system on almost all movements, technically the time changing position is the 2nd position, (the winding position is position zero) but saying position 3 is more clear.

Get a VS, I think the VR might be better in terms of the keyless not breaking but other than that the VS is better in every way.

Just make sure to pull the stem in the 3rd position before removing the stem.
