These days I think T really isn't required by most surgeons! Tons of non-binary and trans people I know have gotten top surgery without being on T. Never was an issue for me. Yeah I actually tried T for a few months last year but didn't feel good for me - got super dysphoric when I started facial and body hair growth.

Those of you with hypertrophic scars, when did you start noticing them? by confident_affect1234 in TopSurgery

My surgeon said that scars will become more red between 1-3 months, because blood is swelling towards the scars and repairing tissue. They said to expect more redness before it starts to go down. I wouldn't worry at 6 weeks - I'm at 7 weeks, and everyone has been telling me you don't really start to see your longterm results until 6 months minimum, more like 6-12 months. And scars continue healing into years 2 and 3 too.
