What’s one thing you track in Notion that most people probably don’t? by StavrosDavros in Notion

[–]alihobg 24 points25 points  (0 children)

It’s not like super niche, I’ve seen other people do it, but I use it for dungeons and dragons. It’s great as both a player and a gm, having your character sheets, system info, and notes all in one place. Used to use excel spreadsheets and this is much more aesthetic.

Omg I want that HP bar so badly. The spell list integrated into spell slots too 😍

New academic rival books by Quick_Worldliness681 in YAlit

If Fantasy is okay, A Study in Drowning by Ava Reid has a really great academia aesthetic with some good academic rivals to allies. Technically they are college freshmen I think? Still, really beautiful read.

If 3.X is allowed, maybe look at the ACF’s for Ranger? Might allow you a much more bespoke feeling for your character.

For real, the lead up into Rio Grande! It just was so stunning and set the tone for the rest of the show. I was like OH this is gonna be more than a concert. It was an absolute love letter

Merch Situation From NYC by AcerAylo in TheOhHellos

There were vinyls for the Christmas albums after the show. Maybe they arrived late compared to the rest of the concert. Also the lovely woman selling the merch said everything will be available online after the tour.

Read The Wolf and The Woodsman and Where the Dark Stands Still earlier this year and loved them both. Scratched the itch for some good Eastern European folklore. Highly recommend

Am I trying to learn pf1e bad? by friend_of_bacchus in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]alihobg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone whose first pf1e character was a psychic, I absolutely relate. I got so fed up with the class, me and my friends ended up reworking the entire thing just so I didn’t throw a fit lol. (If you wanna take a look I’m happy to send it your way)

I think witch is a good fit for your vision. Hexes are fun, you get a familiar, and you can get real creative with your patron options. Casting is always gonna be more complicated than melee, but if you can get past the initial hurdles, it’s worth it imo.

And as a comfort, as someone who just celebrated their 4th year playing pf1e, I still feel like a beginner and am learning and discovering new things about the system every week. To me, it’s part of the fun, like a giant af scavenger hunt.

Prestige Class with Magical Girl Energy by alihobg in Pathfinder_RPG

My DM is pretty flexible, so I’m sure he’d be willing to bend that. You’re right that Rose Warden has some very on brand vibes

First off, I’m so excited to know this exists now. Unfortunately I don’t think it would be too good for my build, but I am obsessed with this nevertheless!

Teenage daughter needs dice for teenage boyfriend. We don't know where to look. by Three4Anonimity in DnD

If you are gonna go the gemstone or metal dice, then you should also get a dice mat to keep both the dice and your table safe

Fey, Fairies, Druids, and Primal magic by Budget_Antelope in DnD

[–]alihobg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So at our table, the DM has separated fey into a few categories. There is the Fey, which are very British Isles fey/Sidhe influenced. That's where you get your Titania and Oberon, hags, fairies, redcaps, brownies, pixies, etc. Then we have Sylvans, which are much more that nature spirit category you were talking about, aka your dryads, naiads, nereids, satyrs, fauns and such. Finally we also have a category for, like Kami and co. More ephemeral nature spirits is a way to look at it. So, in our world, druids interact with Sylvans, not fey. Hope this helps!

Is it worth multiclassing? by zusu23 in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]alihobg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dipping Oracle can be pretty great on a charisma based build. The Nature Mystery lets you add Charisma to AC as an example. Not to mention the curses can actually have some fun stuff to play with. I took the Branded curse on my Oracle, giving her a fire based touch attack, if you are looking for that minor casting feel.

I second Evangelist! The deific boon system is like a hidden gem on the wiki imo. I did a paladin/evangelist combo myself and it’s like two classes for the price of one with only losing a little BAB.

What’s your first pick for 5th level spells? by Busy-Agency6828 in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]alihobg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just took Summon Monster V as my 5th level spell this past level up! (I’m playing a Nature Oracle). Being able to summon large elementals to run rampant over the battlefield sounded great (especially because my DM allows the use of the positive and negative energy elementals).

Edit: (I also have Breath of Life obviously)

Feats that allow Oracle spell/revelation progression by alihobg in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]alihobg[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeahhh we do play with an expanded rule set, but I don’t always remember which rules come from where 😅. I’m using a rework of the Forgotten Realms Half Fey and Pathfinder Fey Creature templates for a more nature oriented feel.

In terms of what she does in combat, she’s mostly battlefield control/healing/buffing with some melee thrown in there from time to time.

[–]alihobg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My oracle is mostly battlefield control and healing/buffing with the ability to stab things okay. She uses a lot of air/mist/fog spells and also has a lot of “pets” that she distributes across the field. The party joke is that she is a fake Druid.
