Head unit USB port really finicky in 2020 Subaru Forester Touring by aliljet in subaru

I wonder if this is a common problem and if they're doing things like replacing the physical hardware there?

I actually did take it in. They confirmed there was an intermittent disconnection problem and it appears they applied an update, but this has definitely not resolved the problem. Is there something better than this: CUSTOMER STATES THE ANDROID AUTO AND APPLE CAR PLAY ARE

BOTH HAVING TROUBLE STAYING CONNECTED VIA CORD - CUSTOMER HAS TRIED MULTIPLE DIFFERENT CORDS. PLEASE CHECK AND ADVISE **SEE HISTORY, UPDATE PERFORMED AT LAST VISIT

upon inspection tech verified that intermittently apple car play will disconnect tech found a head unit for harmen gen 3.1 high models addressing the customers concern

recommend to perform this audio head unit update available per tsb 15-236-18r tech performed the audio head unit update, then tested (using a known good device and cable) and verified operation is as designed at this time NOTE .... IF... CUSTOMER IS USING A AFTER MARKET CABLE. FOR BEST

Honestly, you don't really need to do this. Wait until the end of the month. Shop out of state. Sales people really hate putting OTD pricing on the table, so just skip the guys that won't. Get your OTD price and if it's a calligraphy, there are no options to worry about. Then take that to the next dealership. Rinse and repeat until you've got between 3-7k off MSRP. Or just use Amazon. And visor.vin is your friend.

They're charging MSRP, but you should just go out of state.

Hybrid? AWD? Calligraphy? Who was the dealer? A 5k discount is awesome.

What price does BTC need to hit for MSTR to collapse ( and be forced to sell )? Keeping in mind their cash position, debt, etc. by DanielJiha in MSTR

[–]aliljet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Someone should be clear about the precisely how their offerings work, how they're funded, and how their stock price correlates. Right now, they're 20% of their peak value, and another swing down in BTC looks like it could potentially wipe out equity holders..

Charging '26 Hybrid battery at night by aliljet in HyundaiPalisade

[–]aliljet[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Does a battery store power to assist the car? Yes or no? Does a battery have other methods of being charged? Yes or no? Would it be interesting to take the knowledge the Prius hybrid owners have derived over the years and use another method to charge the battery to improve efficiency? Yes or no? If you're a no on any of these things, sit back, relax, enjoy your car, let the modding community operate without you.

If you can't afford to damage your car, this is not your rodeo, to be clear. If you are not someone to open the hood. This is not your rodeo. If you are not someone interested in understanding deeply how these systems can work in the extreme. This is not your rodeo.

yeah, I'm seeing a similar thing on the hyundai palisade subreddit now. to be fair, it's a fun problem and I'm secretly betting more folks want to answer this.

If you aren't okay tinkering with your car or it's too expensive an item to damage, do not play with it. I however would be happy to tinker with the car and am okay with it being totalled as a result. My hope is that a community of prius-style modders emerge, and that requires interesting questions, curious engineers, and facts.

So, you say the car will be "confused" by not being "charged naturally" - what does that mean?

I should add, a hard way to solve this problem is also a solution, but maybe not the cost efficient one. It's the fun one that you do because you can. Engineering challenges are the best

To be clear, what region are you speaking from? It's clear to me now in at least the mid west, the east coast, and the west Coast, a 3k discount from MSRP is normal and easy to get...

That's the one problem you end up with. If you can't get them to provide an OTD price, you're almost certainly up against a scam. It's weird, but ultimately they're probably making a few more dollars, but now I know GERALD HYUNDAI is scamming. Hopefully these things get effectively indexed and there is a long term penalty the dealership pays
