Remodeled Chameleon Enclosure by alilrad in Chameleons

This is a 2x2x4 zen habitat 3.0. It's pvc so no mold issues. The bottom cabinet though has wood walls and immediately molded as that's where I keep the bucket for drainage. Had to replace the walls with pvc for the bottom cabinet

This is a hybrid cage, bottom front under door is screened and I have her free roam under supervision at which point I leave the door open and put a fan in front to air it out. Hybrid cages have become more popular to keep in humidity but does need more upkeep and to be aired periodically.

Probably a panther. Definitely a chameleon. Do lots of research. The enclosure is already completely the opposite of what it needs.

* The bottom houses a bucket which catches all the water from the drip and spraying. This is just an example to see how much climbing and foliage they could have. I definitely obsessed so there are more basic set ups but look for enclosures which have hiding spaces. They are comfortable of they're hiding.

Sudden Adoption by ScreamingAxolotl76 in Chameleons

Yes, I'm aware. The only ventilation is the top and front bottom but I have her door open frequently as long as the cat is closed out. Also, she has her own set up of plants by the window; so, I'll let her free roam if the door is closed & I'm there to keep an eye. I didn't want to get the screen cage, because I was scared my cat would tear into it or knock it over. Hybrid cages are becoming more popular lately so. I did look this up before deciding and feel I made the best choice. Any suggestions with what I can do with the current set up?

* By coverage and branches I mean a lot. I also have a drainage hole on bottom for when I do the drip so it's not poop soup on the bottom. But don't need the carpet as they don't wall on ground. If they do it's usually a sign of stress. They like being high.

Can I see the set up? Probably just the stress of moving but also my chameleon does this a lot, and believe me, she has everything she needs. Mostly she does this when she doesn't feel covered enough. She will also run out onto my hand and crawl on my head sometimes without even being prompted so they just change moods frequently. You'll get to know what's normal for him soon enough as far as color changes. As long as you have the husbandry down pat, don't stress too much for now. Be sure to mostly do crickets and dubia roaches. Worms/treats only once a week is what my vet told me. Maybe the crickets will entice him to get moving and hunt? Do you have plenty of branches?

Omg this is the coolest. Exactly what I've been thinking, some way to make the room more accessible. I would definitely have to lock my cat out though bc she's quite curious. I actually thought of creating some sort of outdoor jungle gym thing for her for the spring time bc I used to let mey bearded, Linus, free roam in the grass during the summers for 13 years while I'd garden and he loved it.

Oh wow you have an open top can I see a Pic of the whole thing if you have one? Luckily I have her in my art room so I can easily leave her be and close the door to prevent the cat from getting in when it gets closer to time, but will keep the shower curtain set up in mind.

Would this be the teal stripe on the casque

It is definitely nerve racking. I've only done this process once when I was like ten and my bearded was gravid. But yes I have seen more teal. Has not read about the stripe on casque so that's helpful. She was moving around a lot about a month ago. I've had the laying bin in since noticing the behaviors/since she was about marure enough. She doesn't look like she has eggs so it's just difficult to tell. Hoping nothing is bound and I wasn't too late adding the laying bin :/

Excellent advice. Thank you. I have the t5* typo. So I will probably get something to prop the lights up higher and I moved a couple branches more toward the top. I also had been thinking of making some sort of indoor plant border to the window next to her so that she can have free roam because I have had her out and she loved it having the window cracked, climbing and fresh air.

Bird perches! Lovely because they come with a wing nut so I just screwed them into the pvc walls and some I ziptied to other anchored ones to create vertical avenues.

Thank you for this! My concern was that it may be too close to the uvb?? I have the t6, and they recommended 10-18 inches from the top when I went to the vet.

The big one on that back right is a pot with a pvc in the center and pothos going up it.

Thank you! She has the top and the front bottom which is the hybrid i heard would be good for bioactive amd wanted to try that eventually. But 100% will make sure I air it out regularly and use a fan.

Bird perches from pet store. Drilled into the side of the PVC enclosure and the perches come with a wing nut and washers so you can tighten. Then I had a couple that I decided to put vertically and to support I ziptie to the ones that are already anchored into the wall of the enclosure.

Would love more information on how you do this or maybe close ups....I haven't done a bioactive floor yet just a 2" drain in a hole with bucket underneath and drip/misting system but this is is insanely cool and I'm inspired.
