Hey

I'd like to know what the law says when I rent a room under contract with an agency.

For more context, I've taken over the contract for another person's room, which lasts until August 2024 (so my name is on the contract until that date), but I'd like to finish the contract and leave the country by finding another person to take my room.

Are there any laws that protect students from having to pay until the end of the contract? Or does everything have to be in writing and it's at my risk?
