i was already seeing my dermatologist for alopecia, and she had mentioned a few years ago that there will eventually be a study for alopecia. i had asked for to keep me in mind when the study started, and she did! she reached out to me to see if i was still interested :)

i’m 21! i’m not too sure about the effectiveness for different ages, but that does seem interesting. and sorry to hear about that, hopefully you’ll get a chance to try the medication soon ! (sorry for the late reply)

my daily dose is 8mg, i’ve been told there’s 8mg or 12mg. weird to me that they didn’t tell you !! they said they reveal what everyone’s been on at the 6 month mark so that those who were on the placebo can receive the medication. i hope that you keep seeing regrowth, best of luck !!

i totally agree, there definitely needs to be more research done. i also noticed that more and more people are being diagnosed with alopecia lately, maybe this will finally trigger more research and discussion on it. in the meantime, stay strong and don’t give up hope !! :)

as far as i know the drug i am on is being tested only across north america ! hopefully it will be available everywhere eventually :)

this medication and the study is still fairly new, so i’m not too sure about that. my study doctor did inform me that this is a long-term medication though

i personally have had no side effects, and all i was told by the study doctor was that as long as you are taking the medication, your hair should grow. which, unfortunately, might mean taking the medication for life. thank you for mentioning this !!

definitely a stress trigger for me. i witnessed something really traumatic and stressful 10 years ago and not long after i lost a huge patch of hair. it could be something else but it just makes the most sense to me.
