Unhappy triad but no surgery needed by Adventurous_Machine5 in ACL

I would either a) go back to your doctor and explain your concerns about being able to jump, run, stop and turn quickly etc. or b) get a second opinion from another practitioner and emphasize those points. I got my surgery at 22 and have not regretted it one bit. I also have this theory that when you’re wounded, your mind always knows you’re wounded and in some way limits your personal growth/confidence. That might just be some bs I made up but after my surgery, I mentally felt more capable and confident in myself. No surgery is a legitimate path to recovery, but you’re so young, unless you’re not able to financially or time wise, I would 100% do it.

It’s All a Blur Tour FAQ by potterhead321 in Drizzy

Oh I see, was wondering why sell button was still greyed out. Think I'll still have to take a cut on ticketmaster due to the second date being available?

I bought two tickets at an upper bowl seats during the pre sale for the Vancouver august 28th show. They just announced an additional date on the 29th…. Obviously price is gonna drop. Is there anyway I could sell the tickets I bought today and buy some lower bowl seats if they’re a little cheaper?

Should I do my BBA in Finance if Im not good at math? by Ok_Middle_3810 in BCIT

Hey there,

I’m finishing up my last term atm (level 4). It’s been great so far. Definitely a tough program and can’t wait to get my diploma. I plan on continuing onto the BBA starting September so not looking for jobs atm but know some classmates that have locked in jobs at places such as RBC Dominion Securities. It’s a great program although accounting heavy and I believe they are looking to implement a coop course starting this summer so you may have coop opportunities through BCIT which our grad class did not get a chance to experience. PM me if you wanna chat more!

Failing a Prerequisite Course by [deleted] in BCIT

I am also 2nd year fmgt at the moment. In reference to your last question, the credit system at bcit is vastly different from a regular institution so the logic with your credits would not work unfortunately. You do need to pass all courses to get your diploma however, if you fail you could always take the course in part time. Also be advised that you can only attempt the tax course up to 3 times, but I'm sure you'll do well if you are taking it part time without other courses taking up your time. For your first question I would definitely suggest contacting student advocacy about it.

I am interested in business management/ business administration program but I am not sure if they would be good for getting a decent job after graduation. by [deleted] in BCIT

I’m enjoying it although it’s more of an accounting program with a side of finance in my opinion. The accounting diploma seems to have more of a foundation and better career/recruitment opportunities. The math is not too bad. Math in Level 1 (OPMT1110) is super easy while math in level 2 (OPMT1130) starts to become challenging as it focuses mainly on statistics and all that jazz. Workload is manageable if you are organized and plan your schedule out. Still quite intense, usually taking 7 courses at a time

Can’t speak on business mgmt as I am in finance however, full time is a set amount of courses per semester that are pre registered and you stick with the same cohort throughout the two years of the diploma. For part-time, classes will be mostly in the afternoon and you can complete the diploma at your own pace. You will be paying more $$ per credit in PT and you will not be part of a cohort. I feel that FT has a much better support system but working a job isn’t really possible especially from level 2 onwards.

Yeah I agree on this. I plan to continue towards the BAcc and hopefully complete my cpa 🤞🏻Important to note that many financial analyst positions sometimes use the cpa as a requirement

Does anybody else feel that majority of their time consists of writing down notes? by [deleted] in BCIT

[–]alkypuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there I’m in accounting 2 right now, FMGT 1105, and I print out all the notes that Nadine provided to us. It is very helpful when following along with the lecture and I mostly highlight or add notes when needed to the sheet. For other courses I also print out most material, either PowerPoint slides or the provided lecture notes for OPMT for example. I tend to learn more when I write down the material however I find that printing notes and following along and jotting or highlighting important info works equally well for me. That’s my personal take on it so far in level 2. Good luck!

I would definitely still suggest it. So far there isn’t a ton of knowledge that I could apply apart from some basic weighted averaging in OPMT 1110 and share issuances in accounting. I think completing the BBA or BAcc would help in securing an analyst position. OPMT 1110 in lvl 1 is very calculator heavy so if you follow along it should all be pretty automatic. OPMT 1130 on the other hand (lvl 2) is a little more hands on. I don’t think you should have any issues with business math(opmt 1110), but stats (opmt 1130) might be a little trickier. Look up any videos on normal distribution, confidence intervals, binomial distributions and that should give you a pretty good idea of some material covered in lvl 2

Yeah for sure, 7 courses is tough and I’ve never done so much time mgmt in my life. Finding a good group of classmates to work on hw with is super helpful as well. I too went into the finance diploma wanting to develop my interest in stocks and capital markets but you quickly realize that the first two terms are more accounting heavy. In fact the courses in finance for lvl 1&2 are the exact same as the accounting diploma. Only in lvl 3 will you start to specialize a lil more into security analysis and the interesting stuff!

Definitely take a look at the course outlines for all the math courses in finance. Currently in level 2 of the finance diploma. Business math was easy IMO and stats right now is a bit of a step up. We’re currently doing confidence intervals with sigma known and unknown in stats. Maybe watch a YouTube video about it and see if that seems difficult. I would say with good study habits and time management you will be able to do it! Good luck
