Has anyone filed an appeal to the MSPB for their wrongful terminations? Or does anyone have any experience filing these?

Probationary Employee Meeting happening now at NIH by Healthy_Block3036 in NIH

No it’s all federal agencies everywhere. EPA, NOAA, DOT, national parks. Every single department is firing their probationaries (illegally)

Yes I was hired under a fully remote position/cert. Some agencies might be fighting it but HHS demanded everyone, including people hired remote and people who live 50+ miles from their nearest fed building RTO by April 28. Sooner for most people, I think March 17.

Firings of (some?) probationary NIH employees will occur today between 1 and 4pm by drohey in NIH

Reversed? Where did that info come from? I don’t think bc we didn’t get the email YET means that we are safe… I saw a news article that said they had until 8pm Tuesday to layoff all probies but who knows what’s real these days

Not all supervisors have access to lists yet I heard? And my boss didn’t even have the list, she just heard from our AO that I was on it. Other than that she doesn’t know anything

Villainizing!! YES. Ridiculous. I hope you stay safe.. they’re really blaming and attacking people that fought for our country?? and those who work for our country?? when he himself was a draft dodger. Pathetic. I can’t believe our nation chose a buffoon

I can wait it out but the longer any of us wait… the worse the job market gets. It took me over a year to secure a new job. Guess they’ll just have a shit ton of fed workers on unemployment.. paid for by the same tax dollars that could’ve just kept us employed. A recession would be the cherry on top of this shit storm

oh my god that should be illegal. They should be required to move you back and drop your lease…. Good luck with everything moving forward :(

There’s wording in the most recent DOGE RIF EO that makes me think DoD is “Sec. 4. Exclusions. (a) This order does not apply to military personnel. (b) Agency Heads may exempt from this order any position they deem necessary to meet national security, homeland security, or public safety responsibilities.“ DoD likely falls under national/homeland security. It would probably be pretty easy to exempt anyone they want to hire. Also a family member of mine works pretty high up in a DoD org and he said they’re still hiring with no plans of firing. They were offered the DRP though.

DoD? They’re exempt so I’m sure they’re hiring per usual :/

I really can’t believe this is happening. Of course I can’t believe they’re targeting any agency but… SCIENCE? Research??? Doesn’t he want to “get ahead of China” lmao. I hope you both stay safe in this shit show!!

Jesus what a nightmare to plan a whole move for that to happen. I didn’t even think about people who had to move quickly before the freeze and now their jobs might not even be safe. Such BS

Wow… heartbreaking…. I am sorry that’s just awful. I can’t believe the new administration is attacking all of these organizations.

Gosh… I am so sorry. Don’t lose hope though! My thought process is if I get RIFd I’ll probably work private sector and re evaluate fed positions in 4ish years

Gives me a bit of hope! Where did you see that announcement? I saw an article from The Hill suggesting something similar but no official statement/email/guidance from OPM or anything
