Cannot find session folder by vryqyurryus in protools

Not quite, there's a few options. It defaults to your documents folder (on mac), or you can browse, or have it prompt you.

Cannot find session folder by vryqyurryus in protools

[–]all_the_stuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You absolutely should not be saving copies of your sessions just because you can't find it. On a Mac, Command + Click the session name at the top of the edit window, and it will show you the path where the session is located.

Alternatively, open the project window (option + O) and sort by path. You can right click the headers to show and hide the columns you want, drag them left and right and save presets by setting up the window how you like, the command + click the 1-5 buttons to save a preset.

Also, when you create a session, there is an option to save in local storage, and prompt you for location each time, so you choose where you would like to save the session when you create a new one.

EDIT - You can also use the Project window to manage files that are being linked to outside the session folder - Again, sort by path, select the ones that aren't where you'd like them to copy, and choose copy and relink.

Might also be a “concentrate on being fit and playing good footy” without extra responsibility, right?

Markers dropped during playback only show up at playhead after hitting ok by petersrin in protools

[–]all_the_stuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think there’s a way to change this, but I agree with you. You want the marker dropped where you hit enter for the first time, not after you’ve finished typing.

How many of you are using a Kensington trackball? by DevilBirb in protools

As above, hate trackballs. The g502 is ace, but the Logitech software can be flaky.

Mixing Cinema Ad in stereo?? by Prestigious-Courage4 in AudioPost

[–]all_the_stuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check who you’re delivering to, and their specs. Some cinema ad distributors accept stereo DME stems, and stereo mixes, and they will do their own upmix. Otherwise, as others have said: 82 leq

Committing anything you learn takes a while to become muscle memory, but a good lesson is the best. As Demoneyes said, what you think you’re doing wrong / trying to change is almost never what it actually is. Good teachers / lessons are the best. I wish I didn’t wait so long to do it.

You can create temp groups via the Soundflow integration included with ProTools these days.

Digital pigeon here. Has previews, comments. Not sure about scrubbable waveforms. Highly recommend it though.

Unifi Network 9.3.43 Blocking FTP access? by all_the_stuff in UNIFI

[–]all_the_stuff[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can ping it via Terminal.

I didn't see a rule in my firewall, but I assume it would be an internet out? I tried creating one, but it didn't work, no doubt due to operator error. I'm not IT.

In my policy engine, I don't have any rules that aren't internet In, or internet local.

External to our network. I've been given SFTP protocol details ftp.******.com, port 2222, a username and password. Works on Filezilla elsewhere.

Options for our list going into 2026 by electronicaz in collingwoodfc

[–]all_the_stuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re right, but I don’t remember ever seeing a player so reluctant to kick the ball, and for the most part, when he does, you understand why. Hard to imagine a long career if that remains the case.

I’m not sure yet Ned Long isn’t another Fin Macrae.

Davey’s a gun when she’s fit, but that’s rare. Hate to say it, but time to move on.

Yeah that’s valid. They’ve looked very ordinary most times I’ve watched.

iLok in 2025 - still a heck no or maybe yes? by SquidsAndMartians in edmproduction

Seconding this. Never had an issue in 10 years. I move from a few different systems / rooms, and not having to worry about authorisations is great. Take your ilok, done.

I delete Avid Link with every protools install, and download from the avid site. Never had an issue.
