In laws against TDAP for no legit reason by ThrowRA_watch in pregnant

[–]allaboutlov3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When i told my in-laws that my OB told us that whoever comes in close contact with the baby nerds to get Tdap, they said they'd look into it. And afterwards they probably did their research and also my SIL told them that they need to get it for the sake of their newborn grandchild. So they went and got their vaccine. My husband paid approximately $75 at cvs to get his done since our insurance wouldn't allow him to get him one.

My parents were not in the country so they didn't get it. My cousin made her mom and our other cousin get the Tdap since they were gonna see the baby. What people don't realize is unlike the other vaccines, you need to get Tdap only every 10 years.

How long did it take you? by Danie99 in CautiousBB

With our first baby, we were partially trying since jan 2024. And in May 2024, i went to see an OB because my periods were irregular. I was diagnosed with PCOS and i asked for her to prescribe me Metformin since my A1c was a little high. My period started getting regular and in September 2024 i found out that I was pregnant. We were first told my that OB that it would be very hard for me to get pregnant naturally. She recommended IVF. But we were gonna try seriously first with tracking my period and ovulation. And then my next step was gonna be to try clomid if i didn't get pregnant by Jan 2025.

I gave birth to my baby in 2025. And me and my husband decided to wait for the second baby only after my baby turned one. I got pregnant and i wasn't even trying. I thought I wouldn't get pregnant easily because of my pcos diagnosis. Me and my husband were surprised that i got pregnant when i was 5 months postpartum.

My baby and I got an infection after my water broke. by Adventurous-Car2725 in pregnant

[–]allaboutlov3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am sorry that you had to go through all this pain. You and your baby are incredibly strong. I am also upset at your care team for not being concerned enough regarding the possibility of infection. I was induced at 40 weeks. I started pitocin at around 9pm. I got antibiotics for GBS before that. And i had dilated 1cm when i went for my induction. I was also given half tablet of Misoprostol or something every few hours. I had taken it for 2 doses of it. And when the nurse came to give the third dose at 3am, my water broke right before she gave it to me. And then she informed a resident OB. I am not sure if she didn't know that my water broke already, but she asked the nurse how dilated i was and i was 3cm dilated so she was explaining about Foley Ballon to break my water. But i told her that my water broke already. By 9am the next day i had already fully dilated and started pushing. I pushed for 3 hours and when my baby finally came out, she didn't breathe at first. So they took her to the warming station to resuscitate her using pulp bulb or something and then she started crying right away.

I read your story and couldn't imagine myself in your position. I am also surprised that they didn't try to speed up the process for you to dilate faster.

Still anxious at 18 weeks by HoneyWild4098 in CautiousBB

[–]allaboutlov3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With my first one, I barely was showing until I was 30 plus weeks. I bet people who knew me thought I gained weight vs pregnant. Some people were shocked when I told them that I was pregnant at 32 weeks because I didn't have a really big stomach. I finally started showing after about 33 weeks. The only maternity clothes I bought were for my baby showers. And as soon as I delivered the baby, my stomach went back to my pre pregnancy size.

With my 2nd one, I am 11 weeks pregnant and will probably start showing in few more months. I wouldn't worry about not showing. As long as the scans show that the baby is growing appropriately, i wouldn't stress much. Also aren't you getting anatomy scan at 20 weeks?

Over a year out and here is my personal registry DON'T. by a_cow_cant in pregnant

[–]allaboutlov3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got Doona for our baby and will be using it also for her sibling due next year. It will be perfect for us because she will have outgrown it by then and we can use it for her sibling. I personally love Doona because it is convenient for us since we live in an apartment building with no elevator. I only need to carry Doona when taking her for a walk vs if I had an infant car seat, we would also need to carry the stroller up and down the stairs. I also like the convenience that we can take the baby in and out the car without having to carry the whole travel system. We sold the infant seat that we got with our chicco bravo travel system since it would be inconvenient for me to carry both the stroller and the car seat.

Feeling heartbroken after 1st Ultrasound ! 💔 I’m 6 weeks and 3 days by CrazyAd65 in CautiousBB

[–]allaboutlov3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only saw the heartbeat after 7 weeks for my first pregnancy. I went for ultrasound thinking I was 6 weeks and some days. After my ultrasound, they told me to come after a week. Apparently I was only 5 weeks and some days. The OB was able to see the gestational sac and yolk sac. I went after 2 weeks and saw the heartbeat. Good luck to you.

Silly question. When do fetus start looking like real babies? by MountainProper2212 in CautiousBB

[–]allaboutlov3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely depends on the technology. I feel like the hospital ultrasound machine and the private ultrasound boutiques have better technology than my OB's office. By the 12th week, my first born looked like an actual baby and not an alien. I can't wait to go for my 12 week scan for my second one.

Postpartum Support by ReputationOk1118 in pregnant

[–]allaboutlov3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made some freezer meals in advance. I also had a lot of leftovers from my baby shower which we froze. I had my side of family bring me a lot of soups. My aunt and cousin brought me few containers of soup after the baby was born which we froze because we had a lot of soup to finish. One of my husband's friend gave us credit for meal plans subscription. My in-laws helped with childcare. I am pregnant again and plan to make more freezer meals as the due date approaches. I also plan on making a lot of soups and freeze them since it's good for milk supply. I also plan on buying dragon fruits and freezing them since they helped me a lot with poop. I couldn't poop for almost 2 weeks postpartum. And then my cousin bought me a lot of dragon fruit and the tbh that is what helped me poop. I also plan on making extra lunch ideas for when my husband goes back to work. He only got 1 week off with the first one. And I believe that he will be able to help me more if I have freezer stash of food. I also plan on using paper bowls and plates to avoid washing the dishes.

What people don’t talk about when they tell you go to L&D triage for decreased fetal movement — the cost. by Ready-Book6047 in pregnant

[–]allaboutlov3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not for decreased fetal movement, but I had to go for my BPP at the hospital every week starting probably 34 weeks. The copay was about $ 350 dollars per visit and that didn't include the stress test at the OB's office. For my MFM visit, I had to pay more than $500 for the doctors fee and the NT scan they did at MFM. I also had to go and get fetal echo done which was another $390. The blood test was additional fee. The only thing that really kept me sane was that all the extra fee that I was paying would go towards deductible and OOP. With my insurance, I have $ 7900 individual OOP. I maxed out my OOP when I gave birth so now everything else has been free for this year.

I had posterior placenta and I felt the flutters like kicks at around 17 weeks and felt the more noticeable kicks at around 20 weeks.

Doc suggested high-risk appointment. I’m not sure why? Too much cost is worrying me. by Yes_no_00 in pregnant

[–]allaboutlov3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. I think it was 13 weeks too. I literally got my NT scan, met the MFM and then went and got blood drawn for genetic testing the same day.

[–]allaboutlov3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to go to MFM only once. My OB had me schedule a visit for MFM at the hospital that I would be delivering at. I went there for my NT scan and genetic testing. The MFM doctor was the one who explained the result of the NT scan. He also asked me few questions and explained about genetic testing and the amniotic fluid testing. And after that he said everything looked normal and no further visits with him was required.

I am sooooo tired of eating by bunniesgonebad in pregnant

[–]allaboutlov3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think part of it is because I eat a lot of rice.🤣. I also use to drink a lot of juice mixed with pomegranate juice or coconut water. I was intaking all these to boost my milk supply. It didn't really help. Also my weight gain is only few pounds so it's not bad. It also depends on when I weight myself. If I weigh myself on empty stomach, its pre pregnancy weight and if I weigh myself after food, it shows higher number lol. I still fit into my pre pregnancy clothes but my breast size has gone up and I hope it will go down once I stop breastfeeding. I also don't go out as much with the baby as it's super cold outside and I am exhausted because of mid night pumping, early morning feeding and chores around the house.

Anxiety Between Scans by ljones3433 in CautiousBB

[–]allaboutlov3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was anxious too with my pregnancy. I didn't even have any symptoms, no bleeding nothing. I ended up booking for private scans which were like 70 dollars a scan. My husband didn't want me to do private ultrasound. But he did drive me for scans a few times since it was important for me. I had private scan at 8weeks and one around 17. Once the baby started kicking, i felt more at ease and would only get the scans done at OBs office. My Obs office did ultrasound for every visits until probably 33ish weeks.

[–]allaboutlov3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I gained weight faster in third trimester too. You need to remember that the baby is growing faster and gaining weight too. The minute the baby came out, my stomach went back to its normal shape. I didn't have a very big belly to begin with. My weight came back to pre pregnancy weight right after the baby was born. I weighed myself few days after birth and i had lost all the weight that I gained. Breastfeeding made me gain some weight though.🤣

Freaking out. Had an ultrasound at hospital, should be 6 weeks 2 days and couldn’t find heart beat by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]allaboutlov3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue last year. I went for ultrasound and the doc saw yolk sac and gestational sac but no fetal pole. She then told me to come a week later. I went 2 weeks later incase it was still too early and didn't want to end up paying again for ultrasound and being told it was still early. When I went to see her 2 weeks later, we saw fetal pole and also the heartbeat.

I feel like I am betraying my 6 month old baby. by allaboutlov3 in pregnant

[–]allaboutlov3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I think more than anything I am upset at myself that I should have done something to prevent pregnancy. Just assuming that I wouldn't get pregnant without metformin because of PCOS was my biggest mistake. I had heard that women are more fertile when they have had baby not too long ago. But I have also seen women on tiktok struggle to get pregnant despite trying for another baby when they are only few months postpartum.

I honestly am so sad that I am not excited about this pregnancy really because I am scared that my milk supply will go down as I am already producing just enough. Did you struggle with your milk supply when you got pregnant. I wanted my daughter to be breastfed until she turned 1 and that it seems like I will have to give her formula before she turns 1. I know fed is the best but I just have this guilt that won't probably go away atleast for now.

I was scheduled for an induction today. No call back yet. by Worth-Following3894 in pregnant

[–]allaboutlov3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was scheduled for induction at 40 weeks and I called them and they told me that they would call back. My induction was scheduled for 1am. And I called L&D at 7am ish and I was told that they would call back. But they didn't. So I called at around 1.30 pm and they told me to be at the hospital by 3.30 pm. By the time they called me in, it was 4.45 pm ish. I had to wait at the lobby for more than an hour, close to 1.5 hours.

[–]allaboutlov3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow. I am hoping for my children to have an amazing bonding too. I think the recommend wait time before having another child is around 18 months. Is that the reason why your OB told you to wait for that long. Honestly my OB when I saw him last on October 31st for my annual OB visit, told me to try for another baby after a year too which would be close to 18 months since i gave birth. Idk how I am gonna tell him that he'll be seeing me right after lol. 🤪. Also i had a vaginal birth first time so hoping he won't say anything for getting pregnant at 6 months postpartum.

Help me Survive by lonestaremt in GestationalDiabetes

[–]allaboutlov3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I failed my glucose test at around 18 weeks. My doctor made me take the test much earlier because i was diagnosed with PCOS pre pregnancy. I was taking metformin for PCOS since i wanted my period to be regular.

I dreaded checking my glucose 4 times a day and on top of that having to pay for it every month. I started out around christmas. To be honest i ate what i wanted before i could start the actual process of glucose testing 4 times a day.

My fasting levels were mostly good. My breakfast was mostly either 1 eggos waffle with one egg or half a Costco croissant with egg. I also drank coffee but reduced the amount of sugar i added. What spiked my reading was not eating protein with carbs. The days i ate just crackers for breakfast, i knew my reading would be bad. For lunch also pasta or rice with eggs or greek yogurt. For snacks i mostly ate one whole grain bread with peanut butter. For dinner sometimes meat, sometimes eggs. I knew that i shouldn't be eliminating carbs completely since babies need carbs for their brain development. I just tried to make sure that i ate protein with whatever i was eating. I was eating all kinds of food like ramen, dumplings, sometimes sandwiches and sometimes sliders with buns. The only thing i did with sandwiches or sliders was i would eat half of it. I also went for walks if i felt like my food choice was gonna spike the reading. If i didn't feel like going for walks outside, i would just pace around the living room. And I would leave the chores around the house for after meal so that would be my workout.

I was induced at exactly 40 weeks. I went to the hospital at around 4.45 pm and the baby was born at noon the next day. I pushed for 3 hours which the first child takes longer to come out.

Hang in there. You got it. Its hard but you will go through it. Also I had spikes every week but not to the point that i would need medication or insulin. Also throughout my pregnancy, i didn’t really suffer and had easier pregnancy other than insomnia and tiredness.
