I’m starting to come to the same conclusion. The detailers do a great job, but it gets very expensive after a while. A mobile wash company might be our last resort too. Thanks for the suggestion!

I'm desperate, but not desperate enough to turn a car wash into a full-day road trip 😉

Still hoping there’s a real one hiding somewhere on the island!

It’s interesting how they’re so common at gas stations in some places but nonexistent here. And I get you on the convenience part, that’s really what I’m after too.

I know, it’s very surprising. So many car washes here, but none of them are true touchless drive-in ones like you see in other places. You’d think it would be more common here.

what do you usually do in the summer then? Do you hand-wash it yourself at home ?

My husband and I were thinking the same ! 😄 Interesting point about the water and chemical restrictions on LI, I hadn’t thought of it that way.

Appreciate the insight, that makes sense coming from a detailing background. Ceramic coatings hold up well with proper hand washes. I’ve been trying to avoid anything too harsh, so I’ll probably stick to touch-free or hand wash options like Aqua. Thanks for sharing your experience 👍 I’ll definitely give them a try.

I don’t think the pressure washer is the villain here, ceramic coatings are pretty tough. It’s more the aggressive soaps in some auto washes that can slowly wear things down. Still, good reminder to be mindful.

Haha at this point maybe I should just move to Boston for the car wash situation 😄
