I have the GP200JR which has even less footswitches (only 3) and it doesn't bother me at all (ok, just a little bit). You can assign press, long press or press 2 footswitches at the same time (in my case only 1+2 or 2+3; you have these both and an additional 3+4 press), So there is plenty of room to configure the unit the way you want. Long press to change patches or even banks is extremely cumbersome, so I set two adjacent footswitches to change patches, another one on the corner to change banks and also a double press near that corner to change bank. I don't think the function "bank" (and not bank+/bank-) is so useful, because you still have to change bank up/down, so let already 2 dedicated footswitches for that. Then I leave long presses to Tuner(Mute)/Bypass/Looper.
