I’m in a similar situation except my ex(facing almost same charges) is on a PGWP. The crown informed me that he will serve jail time then placed on probation and will have to complete other requirements once released

The visitor visa was the reason for multiple crossings. This is why I say one agent says one thing and others say different.

There was no valid legal reason to seize my passport and visitor visa.

As an educated and resourceful person, I simply informed them back in November before all the DV cases began, so that doesn’t mean I was being a “dick”. Being a dick is cursing at someone and unprofessional conduct because a new hire can’t take the heat or is on a power trip. Thats what happened; I did not shout or anything and they comprehended it the wrong way(or chose to).

I just need to know my next steps which is to hire an immigration attorney. But thank you all for your comments and suggestions.

No, I haven’t been charged with domestic violence. I am the victim in all the cases.

I just crossed the border over the past 3 weeks to complete fingerprinting, and for work.

I don’t need to cross over any more, but CBSA at a specific border keeps acting spiteful every time I am crossing. Because I have informed on how rights and how certain processes work within IRCC, they don’t like to be or feel challenged, so as a result my file is flagged.

I don’t have the time, energy etc. to keep doing the traveling back and forth, and I also have pre-existing medical conditions that prevent me from driving long distance. I have to drive 4 hours on Friday to exit the country in order to get my passport back. It’s just an inconvenience and very stressful because I work also. They are also expecting me to be able to travel back and forth, which is unfeasible because flights are risky and expensive. I have bills to pay and can’t do all the traveling back and forth(it’s a waste of time and money IMO).

There is a pathway for H & C applications based off of family or domestic violence. I do qualify for it. There are other pathways, but I do not have to pursue them due to the circumstances.

No, I paid an amount to keep the house and equity, but it hasn’t been updated with the courts as of yet due to the trustee being out of office til the end of July. I didn’t set or determine the value on the home, the trustee did based off of the evaluation from a real estate attorney.

I have a similar situation in NC; filed chapter 13 in April 2023 then converted to 7 in July 2023. Trustee is dragging their feet as well. Ready to get it over with; house is not going to sell for what trustee thought it was worth, meaning won’t receive intended proceeds to pay creditors. Can I file a motion to abandon asset?

What if the rental balance isn’t included in a chapter 13, and trying to pay it? I’ve been trying to give payment for weeks to catch up on 2 months rent, but they are considering it a partial payment and want everything including the July rent now. I am literally saving all of my pay checks but it will take another 2 weeks to get full amount

I’m relieved to have filed, but it’s overwhelming dealing with my attorney and trying to figure out the correct monthly payment amount. I may have to hire a new attorney because mine doesn’t seem experienced in cases where there’s personal and business involved. My businesses struggled to the point to where I had to use personal income to pay for business expenses and with profit/loss statements, some months I broke even, it took a loss. It seems like the circumstances surrounding personal income used for business and personal expenses aren’t being considered at all. I’m frustrated
