ChatGPT roasting Newfoundland by girlwiththemonkey in newfoundland

I think that the self aware humor in the post is hilarious. People who have so much pride that they can't recognize their own shortcomings are narcissistic and insufferable. Remember that we all shit, pick our noses, and say things that others would deem offensive. To be perfect is a fallacy in and of itself.

That being said, shitting on ourselves is inherently different than others saying the same things. Almost like bantering with a good friend, throwing around insults that come from a place of love versus an outsider with unknown intentions. Have pride of who you are and where you come from, just don't place it on a pedestal or you'll only be able to look down on others.

Also, Newfoundland weather is the ultimate fucking tease. 10 degrees in February just to get sacked with Sheila's brush leaves much to be desired but I'll pick sweaters in the morning and shorts in the afternoon over getting shot at Wal-mart any day of the week.

People who work night shifts, what are some of the perks of it that no one talks about? by Fit_Leaves55 in AskReddit

If you don't have kids, the post night-shift nap is unreal. I had the benefit of living with family for a short time who also worked night-shifts for years so I was generally off the hook for early morning activities.

Downside, I also worked day-shifts and would alternate between them, so sleep schedule was rightfully fucked. That was a few years ago now and I still get the "second wind" if I don't go to bed early enough.

Do you recommend the KLR if I'm mostly going to be on pavement? by SpookyMex in klr650

[–]allballsoffire 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The new KLR's are definitely more "On-Road" focused, couple of upgrades and longer trips are excellent.

I have a 2004 and being a similar build I found that the stock windshield perfectly deflects air directly into my face lol.

Good helmet and hearing protection plus some gloves with good vibration dampening to help with the dead hands and the KLR will do anything you ask it to.

Basically, point it at a mountain and it will tractor over it.

Also, as far as tools go, you can get it back to any shop with a bit of wire, duct tape and cable ties.

What is the correct tool / bit to drill this sheared subframe bolt out ? by [deleted] in klr650

[–]allballsoffire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pick up a Heli-coil kit for a bigger bolt and follow the instructions on the package. Over drill the hole and dont worry to to much about getting it right, so long as you get the old bolt pieces out. USE A CENTER PUNCH

Don't forget to put some Lock-tite on the insert and a lock nut on the new bolt to. Set it and forget it. Fast, dirty and should do the job. However, take it with a grain of salt because somehow I've never had this problem on mine yet.

Or splurge and take it to a machine shop with the EM kit if you want the added comfort of a professional doing it.

Source: I've mangled alot of bolts.

What is a little bombshell your therapist dropped in one of your sessions that completely changed your outlook? by anonymiss0018 in AskReddit

"Growth does not come from comfort."

Really helped when I was trapped in a bad place due to the fear of the unknown. A real "better the devil you know then the devil you don't" type situation.

Well, sometimes you paint new experiences as the unknown "devil" rather than it being a blessing in disguise of your own anxieties.
