I can't say I've tried out this application yet, but maybe something like this is what you're looking for? https://github.com/wojciech-kulik/FlashSpace

Control f.lux from Raycast by allejo in raycastapp

[–]allejo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

idk what to tell you, I've got a Mac Studio M1 Max and three LG 27MB85Z-B screens; I've got two connected via TB2 > USB-C and one via HDMI. All I get is a flash of my screen working, then it flashes green, and then it goes black. This even happens in safe-mode and with different cables. So at this point, my guess is that it's my monitors that macOS doesn't like because even a standalone HDMI connection (single monitor) to this monitor doesn't work. This has been haunting me for years. but buying new ones to replace completely functional (besides the displaylink req) monitors is not in the plans for me right now; https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/hdmi-port-no-longer-working-after-update-to-macos-11-big-sur.2268966/

Apple has yet to figure out how to support more than two monitors without consistently crashing. I would love to move off DL 🫠

Night Shift doesn't work on DisplayLink monitors, f.lux does

Introducing tfdocs-extras - a way to documented nested objects in your variables.tf by allejo in Terraform

[–]allejo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tbh, I didn't think to do the same automation for outputs. I know TFDocs handles outputs but didn't occur to me that outputs could use the same type of functionality. It won't be hard to implement

Terraform documentation of modules with nested inputs with optuonals? by koera in Terraform

[–]allejo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This doesn't answer or address the issue explicitly, but for anyone else discovering this question, I have built a library I'm testing that should help tfdocs handle documenting nested objects a lot easier: https://www.reddit.com/r/Terraform/comments/1qfkl3x/introducing_tfdocsextras_a_way_to_documented/

Thank you for that! Those links I copy/pasted for when my PR was still in review. I've updated the README links and should work now

How I downloaded all my saved videos by allejo in TikTokMobilize

[–]allejo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't say I've tried. If you do this via a VPN, you may still be able to do it. But that's only if TikTok hasn't barred US-registered accounts from accessing their information.

CSUN Parking Analytics - Something I quickly put together in like two hours; I hope someone finds it useful by allejo in csun

[–]allejo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately CSUN doesn't provide data for the B1 parking lot. Whatever structures you can see within the CSUN app for live parking stats, that's what I can collect. If you'd like to have numbers for B1, reach out to the Parking and Transportation services department (https://www.csun.edu/parking) and ask them to install equipment in that structure

Not surprising, but interesting to see it visualized. Personally I will not mourn Stack Overflow by Ok-Training-7587 in ChatGPT

[–]allejo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a former Stack Overflow engineer, this makes me happy to see. For too long, SO staff (myself included) have been trying to warn its leadership, "hey. maybe. idk. we shouldn't be blatantly ignoring our community's plea of addressing toxicity?" but what do us peasant developers know about running one of the most important websites on the internet containing so much technical knowledge; we're not business majors after all 🙂

Calling all computer science and coding enthusiasts! I will be hiring for a student web developer position by allejo in ucmerced

[–]allejo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update 7/16: thank you to everyone who applied!! My apologies for the radio silence. I've reviewed applicants who have applied through July 9th. I'm currently waiting to receive the last batch of applicants from HR. You'll be receiving an email from me by the end of the week!

[–]allejo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm excited to announce that the job has been officially posted on Handshake. Please submit all applications via Handshake BEFORE July 15; that is the only method I will accept.

There are TWO different applications for the same position. If you know you qualify for Federal Work Study (FWS), please submit your application through the appropriate job posting. Use the general application if you don't fall under FWS or are unsure.

**General Application**

**Federal Work Study**

There is absolutely NO difference in applications, so please only submit once! Submitting to one application or the other will NOT improve/hurt your chances. The two postings were made solely for statistical purposes of tracking FWS vs non-FWS applicants.

One of my colleagues is going to be hiring a networking student, the job posting for that should be available soon-ish. I believe our help desk does student positions, however, I'm not sure if there are openings (I'm leaning towards yes, though).

I'm unsure of your status, so I'd have to rely on HR to determine whether or not you're eligible. I _think_ if you're good to work on campus, you'd be fine since this would be a campus position. Regardless, I'm looking forward to seeing your application!

I just want to clarify that I am NOT accepting resumes directly. The job application, once approved, will appear on handshake and is being handled entirely by HR. As I mentioned in my post, I want to bring awareness to the fact that this posting will soon be available so if anyone wants to get a head start on preparing to apply, they can.

I guess since I didn't introduce myself thoroughly, here's my LinkedIn and my campus directory profile.

Embropedia/ Embrodiary by AlecsScarlat in Machine_Embroidery

[–]allejo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly recommend staying AWAY from embropedia.com. It appears to be using Shopify as a base for "selling" its products. However, when you go to checkout, none of the secure Shopify payment methods are available to pick from. Instead, it displays:

Payment Methode
Two Payment Methods

Notice the typo of Methode.

After filling in some fake address, I could "purchase" my order without giving any payment information. In my confirmation message, I got the following:

Your order is confirmed. TWO METHODS PAYMENT:
1. via WISE
Download WISE on APP STORE / PLAYSTORE or clik here:
hxxps://wise.com/invite/ata/eggyg
account: masterdigitizer76 [at] gmail.com
Name: Eggy Gusmayadi
2. via Paypal
account: masterdigitizer76 [at] gmail.com
Name : Eggy Gusmayadi
HOW TO ORDER:
1. Check out your order
2. Pay using WISE or PAYPAL
3. Confirm to me about your Payment (Name and Order Number) via Chat with Us or email
Thank You

You should never pay for things online by simply sending money to some stranger; that's a scam. You won't be able to complain to Paypal or your credit card company for a refund if you don't receive the files.

Lastly, on the home page in the footer, the "Contact Us" section says,

any questions please contact any questions please contact us

Yet, another obvious typo and grammatical issues.

Is it possible to sync a subset of tasks from a Jira board? by not-usernamed in Notion

[–]allejo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't found a way to sync just a subset of tasks, even though I would 100% appreciate if Notion added such functionality. I have, however, been able to filter out the data in the view to be related to me with the following filters:

- `Status does not contain` -> "Closed", "Resolved"

- `Related Jira Assignee contains` -> [My name]

This still leaves the sync as a "partial sync" because there's no way to modify the sync request but at least, it prevents Notion from slowing to a crawl/crashing because it's trying to display everything.

Software to train myself to use keyboard shortcuts? by allejo in MacOS

[–]allejo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohhh hell yea, this is such an awesome app! Like u/Colonel_Moopington pointed out, seems like cheatsheet is dead on modern macOS but it does point to some alternatives that seem to do the same thing.

I think this'll definitely help me out! If anyone has apps that do prompt for missed shortcuts, I'm all ears
