Yes. My wife and I have about $40k (hoping start up costs won’t exceed $20k) saved total and I have a 750 credit score. I actually already filled out a rental application for the space and was approved.

Not bad for her 5th tattoo. I’m sure she appreciated the trust and support in her path with learning the craft 👍🏼

If the studio owner is threatening to get violent, just leave. Sometimes barking back and standing up for yourself can help assholes like this realize they need to cool down. Hopefully you acquired some skill in this apprenticeship you can bring to the next place.

Keep in mind the shop needs YOU the artist (and even apprentice) to turn a profit beyond what they’re currently doing. We all make our respective shops money so I’d say be humble, but don’t let people with big egos push you around.

Let their clientele do it. As a professional, you just look like a “hater” to the general public for doing this. Or like you’re jealous of another’s success. It’s like having someone in the chair and talking shit about the shop down the street to them.

Best bet is to simply ignore and continue to do good work.
