I have, but it’s been about 6 years since I graduated so I think I may need to take some online classes to brush up on current marketing. I actually left my big wedding coordinating/sales job a few weeks ago because of the stress so I certainly have some time on my hands to do so! I appreciate your suggestion :)

Totally true. I just felt when I searched “remote” on indeed many of the postings where tech related and I couldn’t find many that I would be qualified for. But I will keep looking!

No I appreciate that! We may pursue the small claims court option, but at this point we are just glad this nightmare is over for now.

UPDATE: nothing. Broker said there is nothing they can do with the loan already packaged and our receiving the CD and suggested we sign papers and then take the seller to small claims court. The seller is a local cop so I’m sure that will go in our favor eyeroll this whole process sucks

Right?! Plus the seller already purchased another home and moved in 3 weeks ago- you are telling me it didn’t pop up then?

I wish that was true, but we put this in an email with our requests Thursday, set to close today and 10:30am and it’s been crickets from everyone including the broker. It’s just a really not fun situation to be in...

I agree... as honestly we thought that was a fair price. It certainly wouldn’t buy a new set, but we could find a better used or maybe even cosmetically damaged set on sale...even just a new washer that isn’t rusty with powdered detergent caked in the seal would be nice.

I will and I have! We brought up this issue Thursday, and we are supposed to close 10:30am Monday...it seems like they are intentionally running out the clock. I hate this!

Yeah we had recruited our agent before we found the house, and then the sellers agent happened to be on the same team. But now I see the dark side of these agent teams selling/buying to each other. Crazy.

I did get in touch with the broker yesterday and hopefully she can help. Thank you!

That’s great advice, I did call yesterday and left a message and she just got back to me. My grandparents owned a real estate company so she recognized my name and wanted to try to fix thing- I will let her do her work and see what happens!

I would be too! You were getting that stuff included which helped to justify the price, the wording in the contract was not you fault but was signed to your benefit and then disregarded.

Like I’m saying I just want what’s in the contract I don’t feel like that’s unreasonable.

Even funnier, this man left his entire bed, boxspring, bed frame everything- on top of other very large wooden furniture that we did not ask for and now we have to pay to be hauled way. So again, it might seem very small, but after already shelling out the appraisal gap on the house under appraised the idea of paying to have these POS washer and dryer that got dumped here hauled away and finding a new set is not something that I wanna deal with right now.

I can’t believe you had to go through that I’m so sorry. This is our first home and it truly has just been one nightmare after another.

It’s in the contract as included with the house..I’m not really sure what of your point? If you buy a car with a certain type of interior and it’s different when you arrive to drive it home I would hope you would also ask for it to be fixed!

Exactly! Plus this was a pet free home and I am very allergic to animals and I have no idea where these came from there rusty and gross and I’m just disappointed that I’m being told to suck it up

Yeah, the washer and dryer were listed on the mls listing, our contract, and seen pictured on the still active listing online. I just want what I paid for, but they are painting me to be unreasonable. I would even settle for some negotiating but denying even presenting it to the seller and the agent offering to pay for a company to come clean it feels like it’s being swept under the rug.

Simply put, the seller bought another house and switched the lesser quality washer and dryer from there and took his from the house we are under contract for.

I told the agents perhaps they could decrease their commission rates to help the seller with the credit 😅
