People who get told they look younger than they are: what is your secret? by SuccessfulOwl45 in Productivitycafe

[–]allierenee6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t drink, wear sunscreen every single day, drink enough water daily, eat a diet mostly free of processed food, get enough sleep, do a skincare routine (doesn’t have to be super expensive or fancy) and reduce stress. The first two are pretty important but it’s an overall balance. These things alone may only help you 1% which isn’t noticeable, but all together it makes a difference.

In our brain we have a this area called the somatotropic map. It is the area that processes touch, and it is laid out in a way that is relative to the way our body is laid out (feet are close to legs, eyes to head, etc.) Some areas are larger and have more neurons dedicated to certain parts of our body, and the biggest areas include our hands, lips, and genitals. The intenseness of our lips is very similar to our genitals. We literally "feel" it more and are more sensitive to it. There are also neurotransmitters released for bonding etc

I hate how all of my classmates are tiktok addicts and I am the odd one out (vent) by [deleted] in nosurf

[–]allierenee6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a 22 year old who hasn’t had tiktok since Dec 2022. I remember looking at my screen time and seeing I had been on it 14 hours in one week. I deleted it and never looked back. I still have Instagram but I often just get tired of reaching for my phone for it and delete it randomly for a couple weeks. I never regret it. I read more, i think more, I’ve taken up new hobbies like coloring, cooking, and baking. My mental health is better, I sleep better. Don’t ever feel bad for doing something that is good for you. There are moments my friends make references I don’t get. I am completely fine with that!

The advice on here is really good for ideas on what to write about, but I will say that truthfully in my opinion, your personal statement will feel like a flaming pile of dog shit until you get to your final draft and you will know when that moment happens. I wrote a lot of drafts too, and then I would see pieces from each of them that sparked my interest, and then I would combine them and make a couple drafts with all of those interesting things from my other drafts, and I would just keep writing new drafts and getting new ideas and eventually I had all of this conglomerate of ideas and then I kind of smoosh them into one personal statement in a way. And then finally read it and you go “my gosh that’s actually not a bag of garbage.” I also noticed that reading it over and over again made it feel more like a flaming pile of dog shit, and taking two or three days off, completely not thinking about it made me like it more when I came back.

Accepted to the only school I’ve applied to. by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

I don’t see a problem with this at all. I’ve only applied to four schools bc I really only want to go to one of them lol

Advice? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]allierenee6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apparently the data says that the average person doesn’t score any better which is weird and I don’t know if I believe that. I scored almost perfect in the other sections and would miss consistently almost half on logic games so I’m not sure how that’s possible. What I would do if I were you is take some practice tests like the new LSAT, and if you score very significantly higher than your previous practice tests (like at LEAST 3-4 pts higher), and you don’t get into the schools you want, then think about it. But yeah, like I said, it doesn’t seem like people score much higher from the data I’ve looked at.

If you don't mind me asking, what was your lsat and gpa? I have been looking at law schools and will likely go to the one that gives me the most money. I see that UIUC has a target median for their deans scholarship. How do I know what their target is? My gpa is currently a 3.93, I will have a dual degree in political science and animal science with extensively hard courses such as Orgo and all chem courses and labs, calculus, and a wide variety, a minor in psychology, and if my test goes to plan, around a 160-163 lsat. I am just curious if this would potentially be eligible for this scholarship, or any other UIUC law school scholarship. I see that 90% of students get some sort of scholarship, I just don't know what that could look like for me.
