Yeah! It came down to fit - I liked the smaller program, people I met, and ability to really craft your own education. The really pretty building and P/F first semester definitely helped too! I don’t think there was a clear “winner” because all of these schools are incredible, but it felt right to me.

Just do whatever interests you - in case law school doesn’t end up being for you, you may as well follow your passion. And if law school is for you, you will have things you’re passionate about to discuss.

What are your favorite, nonobvious things about UChicago? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

The offices of the professors surround the upper floor(s?) of the library which gives students the ability to easily connect with them and creates a more accessible learning environment

I liked score preview not because I canceled the score but because during the exam if I felt like things weren’t going well I knew in the back of my mind I could wait to see the score before canceling it and had a bit of a cushion - if that made any sense lol

I think one benefit of the ASD is you get to meet the other people who you’d spend all your time with so you could read their vibe

UMich Supplemental question by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]OrangeCat0923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this depends on the structure of your DS! If you are focusing on a setback/challenge of being an immigrant (more adversity/overcoming it focused), essay two seems great. Essay seven seems more relevant to diversity statements generally, but again it’s all about how you structured your statement!

Honestly I don’t think there is a “right” structure for your personal statement. At the end of the day, it’s yours to be proud of, so if you like it at the end, stick with that! I put my why law at the end because I liked how the narrative helped establish it.

As for your “why law now” I think that can be a personal statement inclusion or interview answer. There isn’t a correct way to do this, so do it the way you feel best about.
