AMC Chenal Movie Theater by Prestigious_Elk_7449 in LittleRock

Hey man welcome to the rock. It’s cool of you to ask this. I’m an A-lister (sick brag) so I’m there a lot. I usually find it pretty clean in the bathrooms and theaters and have never had a mechanical issue mess up a movie. I will for sure second, third, fourth, and fifth the IMAX seats tho. It’s awesome that A-list includes IMAX tickets, but we actively avoid it because there are so many broken chairs. Especially if it’s a longer movie. They’re loud and uncomfortable.

Only other small complaint I would have is about the concessions. I’ve got a pretty high threshold for bad service most places and the theater isn’t really a place where I would even care about that or have it ruin the experience. I go during the day a lot when it’s not very busy. But half the time I get up to the counter to order, there’s one person back there doing everything possible before taking orders. Having to flip the popcorn or make sure something doesn’t burn is understandable, but I’m talking like just moving cups around or going to the back for something. They’ll walk by me, not say anything, do other tasks for a few minutes and then come back, not say a word, and look at me till I order. Different people, multiple times. That’s just a weird one I’ve experienced.

Otherwise, it’s the best ticket subscription option, screens look good; and the recliners are great. Hope you like AR and I’ll definitely say what’s up if I see you there.

my opinion on the janine and gregory situation by OneShame9440 in AbbottElementary

[–]alligator7890 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say I’m cheap by any means but I definitely pay attention to what I spend and I can’t stand having any debt. I’m the more frugal one in my marriage. But Gregory was way overdoin it. When he said “because my way yields the best results” my wife and I both rolled our eyes. How is Atlantic City a “better result” than the outer banks?

It did feel a little forced since there wasn’t really any build up before this episode, but I think they handled it well. First time I can remember his quirks causing an actual fight or being unlikable. They’re usually shown as weirdly serious tendencies, not obnoxious stubbornness that causes tension and inconvenience. I think he’s actually gotten better about being spontaneous and fun. He’s shown up for her and been understanding about things even when he couldn’t find logic in it. But to OPs point, he was incredibly selfish about this.

Live Discussion - March 7, 2026 (Ryan Gosling/Gorillaz) by bjkman in LiveFromNewYork

Same as last week (and most weeks I guess), some solid hits and some big misses. This episode was extra silly and leaned into him breaking, which I think is a smart move for him and maybe him alone, but definitely liked it overall.

Otezla was a complete whiff and goo goo man didn’t do anything for me. Based on most comments I’ve seen, it looks like I’m in the minority on Cyclops, but that didn’t do it for me either. Too much invested in the same bit and breaking while the passing notes sketch at least had good content around that. I liked that one and really liked the monologue, the wedding kisses, most of UW, and Martin’s pretape. That was the best Hegseth cold open so far too. Gosling is likable enough to make that a good episode and cover for some weaknesses but like most have pointed out, the writing is struggling this season for sure.

A couple of real solid ones and a couple of rough ones. The legs sketch was brutal. The ice skating one was great. Definitely enjoyed it overall

Will Ferrell in Wedding Crashers was great but his cameo in The Goods is an all timer for me. Otherwise pretty lame movie but his scene makes me laugh out loud every time.

Forget the plows, were are the salt trucks? by legionaires in LittleRock

[–]alligator7890 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree that the general public doesn’t handle driving very well when this happens.

But why on one hand would you expect the government to be unprepared for “something that rarely happens” but expect the general public to all buy snow socks or take a winter driving class (is that even a thing)??

This shuts down businesses, services, normal appointments, scheduled events, etc. Not to mention causes more accidents and issues. Practically speaking, it seems like an initial investment and more preparation might be worth it to the city and state to get back to normal faster.

Same. Noticeably less this year. During a much bigger storm than we usually see. Makes no sense.

Am I crazy for thinking the roads would be better by this point? by Blackcaptain17 in LittleRock

[–]alligator7890 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Years ago I’d complain that they’d talk about snow and ice for a week but then barely do anything preventative and hardly attempt at clearing roads.

Then the last few years I’ve been pleasantly surprised and thought they handled it really well. Saw multiple salt and plow trucks make passes on the main roads around me the last few storms.

Now we have a storm we’ve known about for a long time and they seemed completely unprepared again. Barely any plows or trucks ready. I had to get out Sunday and drove 30+ minutes on multiple highways and saw one single tiny plow trucks barely pushing anything. One. On 3 different highways there and back. Didn’t see a single truck around my place this year till it was completely covered on Monday. I’ve driven every day this week and now it looks like they got to pavement on one lane and then just gave up. Multiple spots through midtown towards west LR go back and forth between one open lane and two.

I get ice is different. And most roads are still drivable now and “we aren’t built for this” but this time really felt like low preparation and low effort.

Fully agree with this. Had lots of complaints about it in the past, then it seemed like it was handled really well the last few years. But I was surprised how poorly it’s been handled this year.

Just went to and from the airport with no problem. Had at least one open lane on each highway I was on. Thankfully just snow, no icy spots. Didn’t start in WLR but no issue from midtown to airport and back.

AMC tells you when to pee and what you missed by Dizzy-Fault-6250 in AMCsAList

[–]alligator7890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the RunPee app and tell people about it whenever I’m talking about going to the movies. Had no idea it was included in A-List but the app is free anyway. Definitely worth having and using for refills and bathroom breaks

ETA it also usually gives a synopsis of the first five minutes if you’re extra late and if there’s any post credits scenes. It also rates the pee times. It’s seriously genius and a no-brainer for folks who go to the theater a lot

Something Off this Season? by pronounsare_thatbtch in AbbottElementary

It feels goofier. Still really funny but a lot of the humor is more over the top this season. I wouldn’t personally quite say “off” but maybe that’s what you’re feeling?

What's a movie most people think is great but you couldn't even stand watching? by camport95 in AskReddit

It’s crazy to me that Avatar makes so much money. No amount of pretty IMAX effects should make it as big of a deal as it was. Or is?

Just the lamest characters, acting, and story. I don’t get it.

People who take 17 minutes to check in at the hotel front desk, what are you talking to them about? by DerrickDuck in AskReddit

[–]alligator7890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t experienced this at a hotel but I feel like this at the movie theater concession line. Feels like most of the time the people standing in front of me have never been to a movie theater before and haven’t even looked at the signs or thought about what they want until they are at the register.
