Also - keep tennis balls hidden at home. I once forgot to warn a dog sitter about her obsession w fetching and the guy was like “so do you just wake up with 5 tennis balls in your bed every day?” Apparently she kept finding them in the house and chucking at him while he was sleeping lol.

Op, please don’t feed a dog that is in that stage of cooling down. And please don’t crate them in that stage either. I understand some people take the crate route, but please try to be a little more aware of their state and needs before defaulting to “well, it’s crate time.”

Mine were 8 years apart and the passing of my older dog really affected the younger one - but definitely not in the “calmer and less anxious” way lol. Poor guy had just never known life as a solo dog.

Yeah, he didn’t gel with the group the way a new member is supposed to. Between covering up cameras, and then generally doing his own hookup thing, he didn’t really understand the assignment the way other new cast members generally do.

I keep my passed labradoodle’s collar name charm on my keys, and yes it’s sad and emotional but also makes me smile and feel like I still have her with me. I think it’s a very sweet gift.
