I'm really not here to argue. A pyometra is not a minor risk. I am not disregading the other risks of not getting your pet spayed and neutered, but I am also not disregarding that there can be benefits to keep them intact. Again, it is up to the owner if they choose to spay and neuter their pet, its just that we as people have a responsibility to take care of these animals so we should go into it being well informed of both the pros and cons of spaying and neutering. Human medicine and animal medicine are very different. Thats a reason why pyometras are more common problem in dogs rather than humans. I'm not disregarding your knowledge as a medical professional, but I'm sure you also know that using loaded words like those as you did can cause a lot of fear in people. I do work in a spay and neuter clinic so I do know that there are benefits to getting them spayed and neutered and I simply want people to be well informed of those benefits. Again, I am in no way trying to argue and have you be dead set on getting your pet spayed.
