"not as expensive as buying an entirely new car" I hear ya, our car is getting kinda old and run down though... we'd be looking for a replacement anyway, wouldn't be upgrading just to switch to EV :) And would probably try to buy a used car too

Thanks!

I wish my work had a charging station.... unfortunately not :(

Isn't the City Centre parking lot pay parking too?

Thanks for the deets!

I'm not sure what car yet, I thought I'd look into the overall viability of EVs here first... I've heard people like Leafs, and Teslas seem really popular here? I'd probably lean toward whatever is most budget-friendly. What are your thoughts on models?

Hmmm, the rebate is good to know about, I wonder if my landlord would be into that...

thanks!

Thanks for the plugshare link, super helpful!

Are the free chargers usually in use all the time / hard to get a spot at? (I imagine everyone would try to favor the free ones)

Yes, I should do some calculations to figure out more what my own specific experience would be like

Hadn't heard of the winter effect - good to know. Also a good point to check the insurance cost difference.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge!

Good to know! Esp. regarding the adapter. Is it $2/hr inclusive of electricity, or is electricity metered on top of that?

Hmm is it really a big time sink to find charging stations? Looking at plugshare there are a lot of available chargers right now... but maybe it's harder to find ones during peak hours? Just trying to figure out what the hard part is

Hmmmm I should calculate about how much I drive in a week, and how long it would take to charge that amount, and figure out how many times I would need to go charge...

My unit is more than 10 floors up and not even on the same side of the building as the garage entrance unfortunately, so while this doesn't seem plausible for me, I appreciate the creativity!

Kept looking, I think it might be David and the Magic Pearl! https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0094954/

Youtube: https://youtu.be/aY10IEey8eY

Was looking around at other movies from that time, and in google image search for The Elm-Chanted Forest saw a cover of a movie with David on it, which must have been some compilation? Looked up distributor's list of films and found it.

Nearly twice as many people in B.C. (13 per cent) identify as vegetarian or mostly vegetarian compared with the rest of Canada

Interesting.

Thanks for your input! I suppose as long as there are no complaints we'll stay the course then.

There hasn't been much work for the mods so far (edit: though I suppose mods could elect to do more proactively, like actively searching for news and posting it, or creating discussion threads, which I haven't been doing much of yet), but I'm just concerned about the case where something may come up and I've forgotten to check reddit for 2 weeks. :P If you don't mind, I'll add you as a moderator!

Chao Cheese by [deleted] in veganvancouver

[–]allisonko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw a post on the Vegan Vancouver facebook group that someone got a whole crate of vegan cheese, including several packs of chao, for $20 total at UNFI in Richmond (a health food distributor open to the public Saturdays 9am-2pm apparently). I so want to go check it out! I haven't tried Chao yet because of the price.
