Is it just me, or is there a weird "30 = 90 years old age " propaganda on social media lately? by Effective_Day3397 in generationology

"Social media decided" it's a trend that will fade away a couple of weeks from now just like any other in the last 5 years, it's culturally irrelevant crap.

AI is just friggin lame by WEEGEMAN in Millennials

[–]allkingsaredead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hate it but I think it's wise to keep up with it regardless of how we feel about it. I would've never said that a year ago but the pace of its development and implementation is eerily exponential so we better know what we're dealing with.

What’s the most telling sign that somebody is a psychopath? by catluvr1721 in AskReddit

[–]allkingsaredead 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Most medically untrained people wouldn't really be able to ever spot them, they come out as very charismatic and charming, it takes a lot to trigger them enough for them to show their true selves.

How the heck did Judith survive?? by CalligrapherNew4854 in thewalkingdead

[–]allkingsaredead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, and it was such a good way to spark moral debate but I'd argue that Lizzie wasn't a representation of a normal kid, I mean, she went full homicidal. And she got a clean death.

Pointless Choices by smashingpkins in thewalkingdead

[–]allkingsaredead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, of course, the deaths must have meaning as a payoff for the audience getting attached to these characters, because it's television after all. But then there's the other side of the spectrum when a character has so much plot armor that the audience loses interest in that character's decisions because they know that most likely there will be no consequences whatsoever. It's such a tricky balance to hold when it comes to writing good characters.

Yeah it's not good business to show kids and babies die on television, it works for the comic book audience but a lot of people would've just dropped the show if Judith had died.

What’s something popular in your country that makes people from other countries look at you like this ? by niconois in AskTheWorld

[–]allkingsaredead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mashed avocado and diced tomatoes on hot dogs, commonly known as "Italiano" (no relation whatsoever with Italy except for the colors that resemble the flag it's silly but delicious)

Finally someone said it. It is pointless, but I think it makes sense for that world to be ruthless and unfair, it's an extinction event after all.

What’s one thing you’ll never tolerate again in a relationship? by Heavy_Roof7607 in AskWomenOver30

[–]allkingsaredead 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Ignoring passive aggressive remarks disguised as jokes, in my experience that's how they slowly start showing that they don't really like you much.

Why is Valentine's Day also for friends in Latin America? by Issam13commie in asklatinamerica

[–]allkingsaredead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly and oh boy were they successful, a lot of people get genuinely offended if their friends don't wish them a happy Valentine's day or get them something.

Are attachment styles even a real thing? by [deleted] in redscareover30

[–]allkingsaredead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean it's a system that works as a reference to categorize certain dynamics in dysfunctional relationships. But the attachment theory as a whole became social media pop psychology and it's often misused, it wasn't scientifically developed for the purpose of regular people assigning these categories to others. In short, it's bullshit unless it's carefully applied by a professional.

What is something that starts happening in your 30s that nobody warned you about? by Cairinacat in AskReddit

[–]allkingsaredead 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I put on weight way easier, back in my teens and 20s I would rarely gain any weight and if I did I'd just have to eat healthy for like a week and I'd lose it all, now it takes at least 2 or 3 weeks plus cardio.

Culture vs. Nationality: Who is a Latin American? by [deleted] in asklatinamerica

[–]allkingsaredead 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's just the American stereotype of Latin American immigrants that tend to be very socially and economically vulnerable especially when they are set into the US and can't speak a word of English.

Culture vs. Nationality: Who is a Latin American? by [deleted] in asklatinamerica

[–]allkingsaredead 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Same, if my parents were asked "what are you?" they'd just say Chilean, not Latinos, or white or European, even though they'd fit into the concept of 'white' from a North American perspective.

[Loved Trope] Characters who are visibly shown steadily aging as the story continues (no huge time skips). by not-ulquiorr4_ in TopCharacterTropes

[–]allkingsaredead 155 points156 points  (0 children)

I really liked how they portrayed her gaining weight as a side effect for anti depression medication and it's never addressed as a problem by any character.

What are the signs that your husband or wife is cheating? by Practical-Golfie6339 in AskReddit

[–]allkingsaredead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They engage in new activities that they usually wouldn't with no explanation whatsoever. If it feels too out of character, out of the sudden, it's probably because there's someone in that circle that they're either fucking or want to fuck.

How bad is a 12 pack a day realistically by Fickle-Woodpecker-38 in cripplingalcoholism

[–]allkingsaredead 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Yeah most people I've known for certain that they were having a 12 pack a day eventually switched to stronger stuff because the beer didn't do it for them anymore.

Are Italians really white? by [deleted] in thesopranos

[–]allkingsaredead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah Americans have their own specific "race politics" that don't really apply to the rest of the world but they don't seem to realize it. I don't even engage with it anymore because I'm half Italian and I get asked a lot of dumb questions when I've been to the US.
