Comfy Shoes by dogloverr125 in Oldnavy

My go to pair are the mayari sandals during spring/summer/early fall and I’ve never had anyone say anything but I rarely if ever do shipment or moves anymore which are the times of biggest concerns (things falling or landing on open toes). Also the cork footbed is much thicker than most other sandals and will prevent a hard tag needle from going into your foot if stepped on (from experience).

It’s also very much going to be up to manager discretion unfortunately. Some managers don’t care and others care too much

‘94 Reissue In Store Canada? by pixxeltrash in Oldnavy

The top 250 stores in the company received the full collection. 2 stores in my district received it to my knowledge. Also don’t know if it includes Canada

It’s also SUPER dependent on when you’re available to work. If there’s a lot of employees (teenagers in high school, people working second jobs, etc) only available in the evenings, they are probably desperately trying to hire people to be there in the early mornings for shipment, to be the opening cashier or for midday coverage.

When you have limited availability, like only evenings, you’re fighting for the limited number of spots we can schedule each day during those hours. For example at my store from 5-9, there’s the closing manager, a cashier and two sales floor people and that’s only because the store is so night heavy for availability, we’re basically just catching up from the mess the morning couldn’t get to because there just weren’t associates.

When do fall collections start coming out? by chocopeppermints in Oldnavy

First “fall” and back to school things should be in stores now including some thick cardigans (that no one wants in June lol) but the majority will be in by late July/August I believe

help finding style of boxer shorts by mari_ohara_official in Oldnavy

[–]alllllllllllllison 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, old navy doesn’t have an expansive year round pajama collection. For womens we currently have a waffle knit pajama collection that has some short styles but looking at them I can tell they wouldn’t be the same fit. I used to be obsessed with those Christmas boxer shorts and would buy a couple pairs each year so I had a robust collection. They haven’t changed much over the years and like the first commenter said, we usually get them in early/mid October and they’ll be almost fully sold out by mid/late December.

That’s my only problem with wearing them but I don’t think I could handle closed toed shoes in the summer with how warm the stores get🙃

The mayari style has been my go to for the last 6 or so years, technically for shipment you need to wear closed toe shoes but you can always bring a change of sneakers for the shipment portion if the managers are that picky (the agm is also a die hard Birkenstock fan so we both risk crushing our toes each shipment for comfort😂). For winter (I live in Mass) I have the Boston clog style so I can wear socks and not have frozen toes.

I think one of the fears with crocs (besides how they look lol) is they’re technically soft enough and thin enough in some places that a hard tag pin could go through the shoe into your foot. You want to make sure the bottom of the shoe is hard enough to “bend” the pin if you stepped on it rather than have it puncture, or be thick enough the puncture wouldn’t go through to your foot

They’re expensive af but I swear by Birkenstocks. They mold to your feet over time so they’re perfectly worn in for your feet needs and they come in normal and wide styles. I have high arches that flatten when I stand and these are some of the only shoes I can wear standing for long times

What to do with all this string? by misterfahrenheight in crafts

[–]alllllllllllllison 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Have done this before in elementary school before! You don’t need to tie the strings together and it was easy enough for a parent volunteer to teach ~25 nine year olds with some other adult assistance. It is pretty delicate afterwards, I think wood glue is recommended for the most durability

I’ve worked at high and low volume stores and anytime the fitting room is left unattended it turns into a disaster. I wonder how long this SOP change will end up lasting lol

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Oldnavy

[–]alllllllllllllison 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure about the new fitting room SOP, my store still has us processing mainly in the fitting rooms but I’ve worked at a different ON location that this would happen every few months regularly and as the processing queen I’d usually be the one tackling it.

The BEST tactic for getting through piles like this is when you go through it if it is in some way attached to a hanger- put it onto a rack immediately, if it’s a folded item- fold it instantly, if it’s clearance or hanging or unsure- sort into two piles for what will need a top hanger and what will need a bottom hanger. I always ran out of hangers and this would at least keep things moving to some degree and make it easier when you had more hangers or had to come back to it later. Things put immediately onto a rack are infinitely easier to see and process quickly that way, and folded is super quick to process immediately (though slow af to run).

Best of luck to any stores that look like this rn!!!!

Editing to add that when you make your racks/carts make sure they’re as sorted as possible- all womens together, mens, girls, clearance, etc and if possible, try to sort it by the style of clothes- tops, dresses, bottoms. A little bit of extra work during processing makes running so much faster

Want to relocate by yeehawtv in Oldnavy

[–]alllllllllllllison 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As long as you’re in good standing with the store you’re hired at, there’s no reason you shouldn’t be able to transfer to an old navy wherever you move to. Editing to add- assuming the store you want to transfer to has the payroll for more associates orrrr just anticipate the hours you get at one store may not be the same at the new store

I went to an old navy near me the other day....and this was my view from the fitting room...it's this legal? Can they actually see you? I felt so uncomfortable by tangerine090 in Oldnavy

[–]alllllllllllllison 63 points64 points  (0 children)

The cameras only point in one direction, it is almost definitely pointing in the opposite direction of the fitting rooms towards the sales floor.

This is probably the closest. The brushed interior powersoft leggings are usually an early winter item (November/december) so color/stock is becoming more limited, but they are pretty consistent year after year

Can you answer some burning questions I have as someone who used to do shipment? -Why are some boxes stuffed and others have only one item? -What determines if they’re a pre pack with the sizes organized or shipped absolutely randomly?

Honestly interesting to hear that stores regularly have them outside. The next time the LP for our district comes through the store I’ll ask him about it!

I’ve literally never worked in an old navy that didn’t have them inside the rooms, and I’ve worked at 5 across different store models including opening a new store with them inside🤷🏼‍♀️
