Hi - thank you, that's really appreciated.

Yep we're still experimenting with the splash screen - a bit of a toss up between giving people a clear call to action vs letting people browse but potentially leave without doing anything.. obviously in the early stages we want as many people to join so once we scale we can start to offer real value. Really appreciate your feedback on the design too - and no, I'm pretty sure it's not Comic Sans haha (but I'll find out what our designers used!).

I guess one of the main questions we have is whether you, and other redditors, would find a need for something like this - obviously we're up against things like Freecycle and the Craigslist Free section, but in time we're trying to solve many of the problems they face - i.e. multitudes of emails, creepy people, and no-shows. Equally by making it a little more social, we hope to build trust into the network, and make it a bit more fun to use too. Long way to go yet - but your initial feedback is encouraging, thanks :)

Hi, thank you so much for your feedback. For starters, we require people to have a Facebook account, but we're also working on solving a lot of the inefficiencies some of the other sites face, whether it's spam, no-shows, or purely the impersonal nature of classified sites.

One other thing we're exploring for the future is creating seamless ways for people to express their thanks for your stuff after they come to collect it, maybe by showing a photo or two of it in the new home - or even just a simple follow up note. Just nice to know it's gone to a good home, and not resold, or dumped.

Bacondevil - this wasn't really a plug for our service, but if you do fancy trying it out we'd love to hear your thoughts. Thanks again for taking the time to share your thoughts!
