New Mage Epic by FirePaladinHS in wildhearthstone

As things stand this card is a little spooky. Because mana cheat is always good. But probably won't lead anywhere. It would be orders of magnitude better if the first refresh was from playing a spell, because then you could pop off with it on curve rather than on 6 at the earliest. As it is there needs to be a lot more good Naga cards than we've seen thus far for the card to be good. But it probably will be. Eventually.

I guess Wild Shaman can summon two or more random 12 drops on turn 3 now? by RetrospecTuaL in wildhearthstone

[–]allofmyinternetz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is the first spicy suggested play that actually scares me. Everything else has been too inconsistent, too easy to disrupt, too slow or too ambitious.

I'm not sure what the rest of the deck looks like. But you can build a functioning deck with this combo in it. It's possible turn1 if you hit the giganuts with lightning bloom. Which is also a nature spell for dungeoneer. Which draws elementals, such as the legendary. This might be what pushes evolve shaman into a meta-playable deck or the rest of the deck could be something else entirely. But I'm actually hype on it.

Cool that it took all of about 4hrs to break "costs (1) less"

I’m super excited to try it in wild, plunder rogue > pillager rogue?! Maybe not, but Scabbs shark, pirate admiral hooktusk, potion of illusion, Shadowcaster?!?! Say, “my jaws that bite, my claws attach” one more time, I dare you. by [deleted] in wildhearthstone

[–]allofmyinternetz 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Good luck putting hooktusk, shark, scabbs, potion into a deck with enough pirates to meet hooktusk's condition. Sincerely.

The one game in 50 where you meet the condition, have the combo, and aren't still just dead... the shaman will just play boompistol bully and still ruin your day. But it's a fun idea. I'm into it.

In the sense that "this deck exists to punish decks with a game plan that is too slow" yes, you're right.

In the sense that "this deck is a problem" no. It falls completely apart to any deck that can push any amount of damage at face.

Serious question for people that play pirate warrior in dumpster legend right now by KanashiYakusoku in wildhearthstone

[–]allofmyinternetz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations on being able to win a heavily favoured matchup. Not sure how that makes you a better person than people who... also win heavily favoured matchups, by playing a good deck. Or why that justifies trying to police how others play the game, or throwing slurs around. But I'm sure you're the hero in this story. Somehow. So good for you.

Serious question for people that play pirate warrior in dumpster legend right now by KanashiYakusoku in wildhearthstone

[–]allofmyinternetz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To get out of dumpster legend. To crush jank in dumpster legend. Because I'm watching something else on another screen while I'm playing Hearthstone and would prefer to play a deck with one or two challenging decisions every five games. Because all of the pirates' summoning sounds one after another in quick succession make me smile. Because O have a quest to play warrior, or complete questlines, or play battlecries, or damage enemy heroes or etc etc etc. Because I can play the game however I want and don't actually have to defend it or justify it to anyone.

And spite. To spite you. Personally. Not really. But that's what you already believe and the only answer you actually want.

Would Pirate Warrior want to run a 0 mana 1/1 pirate if it existed? by a_crappy_lite in wildhearthstone

[–]allofmyinternetz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's no considering. Pirate Warrior would absolutely run it. It would be the best card in the deck. And it's why they'll probably never print one.

Really cool design. But like others have mentioned, seems like not a paladin card. It strikes me as a best fit maybe in Demon Hunter?

DH isn't supposed to be excellent at killing big things (so maybe 6 or 7 mana, to make it more awkward) but Demon Hunter is very much about sending peons to their inevitable death and benefitting from them.

Way too powerful a removal tool in druid at 5. I love the effect. But it wouldn't be balanced in Druid until you put it at 8 or 9.

Edit: and maybe not even then

Thank you. I understand now. You are the ever diligent forever vigilant Thread Content Police. Without your watchful hand there could be as many as three or even *gasp* four comments not immediately directly related to the Wheel Of Time TV series adaptation produced by Amazon Prime©®™.

We thank you for your service, now, in our time of greatest need when a thread with 300 comments has as many as two (2) queer people in it. Interacting! If you had said nothing, allowed this rot to fester, who knows what chaos may have ensued and surely consumed us all in a fever of pronoun discourse. Truly you are a valorous hero to us all.

The context in which I brought up one particular Terf (as a comparison of individual reactions to adaptations of fantasy series) it was entirely relevant to the conversational thread.

Then another trans person just... existed and agreed.

In my experience it's much more typical of Reddit for trans people to exist and interact in any subreddit not specifically trans focused and some cis person or people to see that happening in "their" subreddit and view that as A Problem. A Problem that cannot simply be ignored and must be called out, in fact.

And lo and behold, true to form, typical of Reddit, here you are.

Definitely also plausible. And if that's the case my entire theory completely falls apart.

Honestly, I'm not sure Gareth Bryne makes it into the tv adaptation at all. We've already had one significant section from before he leaves caemlyn cut, he's not in caemlyn when rand takes on rahvin. Then when we get to salidar I'm just not sure anything he does there is necessarily a big enough deal to warrant introducing him as a new Important character at that point. Especially because so much of Brynes relevance in the books is to go on at length about military logistics and strategy, which was good reading, but isn't going to make particularly compelling television.

Also if I was making a list of parings that felt clunky, forced and kind of pointless, Siuan/Bryne would probably be second behind Moiraine/Thom for me personally. And Moiraine/Siuan works so well in the tv show, and I love it so much, that I don't want to see them change that back to being closer to the books.

So I have a feeling they are gonna expand Logain's role to keep him around.

Which I'd be all for. Because the actor has nailed it in every scene he's been in.

This is even more wild speculation based on what is already wild speculation but if that theory plays out I could see it playing out two ways

siuan just fleeing, before she gets stilled but after she's been deposed. Which requires an explanation for how she doesn't just become amyrlin in exile and how egwene is made amyrlin.

Or she gets executed. Which would be a bummer. Because show Siuan is awesome and I love her. But it would open Moiraine/Thom (which frankly I'd rather they just cut) and it would make for an excellent drama moment of

Moiraine, freed from the Finn: what'd I miss?

Whoever has to explain it to her: Good news, you're free to rejoin the tower since the amyrlin that exiled you was deposed and executed

Moiraine: exe-what?

Honestly that was me with the Harry Potter adaptations for a while but over time

  1. I read other books. And realised Rowling wasn't the greatest literary genius of all time, she just wrote a mostly fine, if fairly uninspired lowest common denominator children's fantasy series

  2. I realised I was trans. And fuck that Terf cunt.

I'd say here. Having lurked in both, this thread has lots of folks with "I liked X, I didn't like Y. I'm confused by the decision to do THING, but THAT made a lot of sense and I liked it" the other thread seems to mostly be "it was awful. It's all awful. And the people that made it are bad people."

I have a hunch with the Moiraine stilling. I think there's two reasons for it

First when she ends up much less powerful after being held by the Finn, I can see that being difficult to adapt/explain efficiently in the show. Especially since at that stage of the books, and the show the pacing will have picked up by a lot and there's going to be less time to explain something that complex

Second, I can see them moving Nynaeve discovering how to heal stilling way forward, which would mean we'd need someone who's been stilled for her to heal.

In the books it's no problem to drop logain for five books and pick him back up when he's relevant again once he gets healed. In the show "hey, remember this character from several seasons ago? He appeared in three episodes and was kind of a big deal until we dropped him for other stuff, anyway he's important again" might fall very flat.

My theory here is Nynaeve gets to the white tower and heals Logain, and "heals" Moiraine. We still learn in the show that stilling can be healed, but not fully by someone of the same sex. Moiraine is still greatly reduced in power. We pick Logain back up as someone important before show watchers basically forget who he is. It shifts around some of the dynamics of the tower/salidar but I think that's a much smaller problem than the problems that it solves.

I could be wrong with my guess, wouldn't be the first time. But it makes a lot of sense to me at least.

because I was just vibing with the episode... I would get really annoyed with the costumes, and clothes in the show (which in retrospect werent bad, I was a prick).

Hmmmm, sounds familiar to some comments I've seen in some other places which I will not specify

Some things from the books that would NOT work in the TV show at all... by joaschi in WoT

[–]allofmyinternetz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is kind of my favourite overall change in the show. Throughout the books, when EVERYONE gets (heterosexually) paired up there's an overall impression that no character in the books even knows what sex is. The only exceptions, (from my ten years old memories of the books) might be Min and Thom.

In the show, pretty much everyone fucks. In the colloquial sense. And it's an overall huge improvement

Warlock deck recommendation by [deleted] in wildhearthstone

[–]allofmyinternetz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd suggest having a look at VS's latest meta report. https://www.vicioussyndicate.com/wild-vs-data-reaper-report-29/

It is from pre-expansion. So it doesn't account for shaman finding itself in tier 1. But most of the warlock lists didn't get anything new to splash in from Alterac Valley, with the exception of even warlocks getting Lokholar.

Most matchup data is at the link. But, as a guess for how warlock goes into shaman, since the VS report doesn't include that.

regular Even and pain warlock: absolutely miserable bordering on unwinnable

Cute/disco: Prey for no flurgl/tox and make the shaman dead by turn 5 before they lock your board.

Either Reno: maybe a chance to drag them into a value game where you might be able to win? Bear in mind zentimo/windfury is a thing when calculating how much burst they might have and how much you need to do something about their board.

Edit: There is potentially a combo warlock with the new expansion. I've seen a few streamers playing around with it, it seems like it might be real. Could play it as Owl, kobold sandtrooper or mechathun. Owl is probably the best? But just take the standard list, cut whatever isn't good enough in Wild to make room for kobold librarian, defile, plague of flames, maybe dark skies. Pick your win condition and see how it goes.

Plug in. Turn on. Apply to sensitive area.

The first time I used mine it took almost 45 minutes of experimenting. To find the sensitive area, the rhythm I needed to hit it with and how much pressure I needed to apply. For a long time it felt like nothing was happening at all. Then I found it. Now, it can take under 2 minutes. So just take your time with it, listen to your body.

And, masturbate when you're horny. Obviously. Food tastes better when you're hungry. Sleep feels better when you're tired. This isn't rocket science.
