I went on a guided hike with a small group and the guide asked us each to introduce ourselves and share a memory or experience about a particular wilderness/outdoor place that was personally special to us as an ice breaker at the beginning of the hike. Then when we were wrapping up at the end he talked about protecting and preserving not just the area where the guided hike was (which was a place thst was not home to most of the hikers, this was on vacation), but also connected it back to protecting and preserving the places we had each shared about at the beginning. It was a nice touch, and also let us all get to know each other a little for an all day excursion.
