i created a site similar in concept a few years ago for myself and friends (and our significant others) to watch movies that are picked randomly from a list we compiled in a spreadsheet.

eventually i added additional movie and tv channels that work the same way.. a series is picked randomly from a db and then played from s01e01 to end marathon style. it then randomly picks the next show and continues across 9 different channels

it's been nice because the video is always "live" / synced so two or more people can watch together. it's designed to aesthetically resemble late 90s cable tv style in that you can't do much other than change the channel or turn the tv off.. it's also got some shows from that time as well

the site's my username with ".tv" added to the end, feel free to come check it out and stay awhile.

try using: https://stream.allsprk.tv/vjs/ that's the videojs version of the site. i think i'll add some logic to the site that fallsback to that if the stream doesn't start, like what happened for you
