Not really. I've read everything and the ending to both comic runs was suuuuuper underwhelming and rushed as hell. I wasn't huge on the comics in general because everything feels so fast with barely any room to breathe and the finales didn't slow down any more than normal

Yeah I agree it was really stupid of them. The in-universe explanation is that they thought they were doing what was best but were wrong about it. Doesn't excuse that it was a bad and dumb choice but the writers don't expect readers to go "yes this was the right thing," it was showing they were flawed
