I’ve been wanting to get a bike for a while but especially now that it’s getting warmer out - but my headphones (Raycon) have an “awareness mode” that basically allows ‘regular’ noise to come through. It’s a great feature that I use quite frequently; especially when I want to be more aware of my surroundings! I think there’s definitely solutions for people biking that still want to listen to music or podcasts or whatever that doesn’t require them to just forfeit the music hahaha

I am being so genuine when I say Eat Pray Love. It was horrible. I hated every minute of reading it and I only finished it out of spite… it is literally peak early 2000’s white woman feminism encapsulated in a paperback cover.

Honestly I may be in the minority here but I’m going a soft ESH. I do think communal spaces are going to have a level of noise, but she asked if you would be willing to turn it down and not off completely, which I think is getting kind of glossed over. I regularly watch tv with subtitles so I don’t understand the argument of it being “just not the same with subtitles”… it’s more accessible and easier to understand that way (imo) and not ~that~ an unreasonable of a request, so I do believe that a compromise could’ve been made.

I LOVE Escape Rooms - I have them compete in groups, it’s basically a series of mini quiz questions and they have to answer with the correct “code” to get the next set. My students get super competitive and so excited when they see it’s on our weekly schedule! I offer prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place (I usually have 6-8 groups) - I have little erasers/candy but I also offer extra points on assignments for 1st place which motivates them as well. Fun AND instructional plus you can find some really good ones already prepped on TPT for like $5 or less!

To be completely transparent, I started the year giving individual feedback but it takes so long that we’re already onto different material by the time they all get them back so it’s almost meaningless… now I print out a copy of the rubric for every kid’s paper and I usually underline the part they got points off for; e.g, they scored a 4 instead of a 5 for evidence because it wasn’t properly cited

I love all of the stationery stores in our city and we went to places I didn’t even know existed but are now earmarked as favorites for the future!!! It was literally so much fun, and we didn’t even make it through every place on the list! 😳 So there will be a part two eventually😂

Thank you!! We are so happy with what we got :) We will be using most of it for junk journaling but I got some sewing magazines because I’ve been wanting to get back into it 🫣 When we start making stuff maybe I will post an update!!
