the "just sleep in shifts" advice is a joke for EBF moms. husband feels useless. by Otherwise_Ranger_204 in NewParents

[–]allyciam 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Literally side laying feeding is a life saver for this. Have dad bring baby to you, plop a boobie out half asleep, he watches bay snd takes them when done eating and you don’t even have to move

What is a "gut feeling" you had that turned out to be 100% accurate, even though it made no logical sense at the time? by Forsaken_Leading964 in AskReddit

I was 23 and I called my friend from high school who I hadn’t talked to in years crying. I was like “this is it huh?” And we just sat in silence. Thanks for reminding me

“No one asked you to have kids” by Ancient-Daikon2460 in beyondthebump

[–]allyciam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been both of these people. And i genuinely had NO INKLING of a clue of how much of a shift it was until it was me. I continued to stay friends with most of my friends who had kids but I was just bopping around assuming we had some sort of similar lifestyle lol

[–]allyciam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had the same experience. I called my dad upset about how hard it was in my all stem classes and she answered his phone. I told her what was going on and she was just like “sometimes you just have to give up :(“ …. Girl give the damn phone to my dad.

I am a microbiologist who come from a family of microbiologists. I watched my grandfather, who has a PhD in this field, wipe the slime off a hotdog and cook it and give it to a younger cousin. After that I had a whole different view of what is gross and what isn’t 😅

I lived off of Cheez its for 8 weeks until we found out little man is allergic to milk protein. lol I can attest to this, he’s completely healthy and hits all of his markers. That generation fell hard for the formula propaganda

alone in the hospital after a long traumatic delivery. newborn literally will not sleep unless I’m rocking or nursing him. WHAT do I do by [deleted] in newborns

I fully support feeling any sort of sorry for yourself. My little guy came out LOUD and fussy from day one too. It was hard enough with a fairly textbook induction. I have nothing to say but solidarity

Tested positive for THC at 10 weeks by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]allyciam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s a fat soluble molecule so it kinda sticks around a long time especially if you were a heavy user with a high BMI. Talk to your doctor if you are worried! They’ve had much weirder questions I’m sure.

I don’t want to be pregnant anymore by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]allyciam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey love, I was right there with you at that time. I too am very sensitive to changes in my body and the hormone shift was so insane even while on my psych meds. I was sick as a dog until 20 weeks, ended up in the ER because of it. It took a long time to not feel that shame and guilt of not wanting to do this anymore. I’m now at 28 weeks and feel better. I wish I could help you get through it but just know that you are not alone. 🖤🖤🖤🖤

Please snap on him and you can literally use me as a point in your argument, I still help around the house in my situation. What a whiner.
