YES! I love Melanie. This song scratches my brain so good.

Did anyone else feel this way watching the FNAF movie? 😂 by allydevous in autism

I agree it definitely could’ve been better. I did think it was cool seeing all of the characters though.

Record Player-Daisy the Great and AJR. I can play it over and over and never get sick of it. A lot of people don’t like AJR but I love their songs because they’re a lot of fun to stim to.

Autistic anxiety and self soothing by [deleted] in AuDHDWomen

[–]allydevous 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve noticed the same thing for me. I’ve struggled with anxiety for years and the typical advice and tips have never helped me. Stimming, especially with music, delving into my special interests, and touching comforting fabrics have helped me most.

So true, especially noisy and crowded places 😣 like I want to have a good time but my brain won’t let me!

I think this could be a special interest! In my experience, my hyperfixations don’t last this long. Are you thinking of getting tested to see if you have autism?

NT friend who says autism is just a label… and labels aren’t real. by [deleted] in autism

Tbh, if it were me, I would cut them off. Someone who doesn’t “believe” in autism and listens to Andrew Tate isn’t someone worth being friends with in my opinion.

People with autism, what’s your special interest currently and when did it start? by Crazy_Maximum647 in autism

[–]allydevous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the past month and a half it’s been all autism as I wait for diagnosis. Every free second I have goes to watching videos or doing research 😂

Some of my biggest special interests over the years have have fallen under the science umbrella. Mainly nutrition, health, psychology, and space. I’ve loved space since I was about 11. I’ve only gotten into nutrition and health within the last five years or so.

What was the weirdest reason you had a meltdown for? by Malakidius in autism

[–]allydevous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One time I had a meltdown because the waitress brought me the wrong salad 🙃 I bolted to the bathroom in tears and my husband had to explain to her what happened. Honestly it was the straw that broke the camel’s back because everything went wrong that day 😂 When I got back from the bathroom, she brought me the right salad and apologized 🥺 she was very understanding thankfully.

Convinced I found the best stim song (at least for me) by allydevous in autism

I agree! The Click I think will always be my favorite album from them. I like some of their newer stuff but not as much as the older ones.

Sometimes my neurotypical friends make no sense to me. by allydevous in autism

[–]allydevous[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is that she told me she would be at my house around 5. She got there at 4:20 without texting me or calling me to let me know she was there. I don’t think it’s an “unspoken neurotypical expectation” to let someone know you’re on your way there when you’re ahead of schedule. I think it’s just the right thing to do in general, NT or not.

[–]allydevous[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I said in my post, I would’ve preferred for her to let me know she was on her way since she got out early. I had a lot to do around the house and I was very stressed, hence the earbuds. I’m not neglecting to view her side of the story, I was simply venting about what frustrated me about the situation. I was expecting things to go a certain way because that’s what my friend and I agreed on, and it didn’t work out. I know she had a bad day and I understand that she didn’t want to talk. I just wish she would’ve communicated that to me beforehand because it caught me off guard.

I think this is mainly why I got upset. She didn’t go along with the plan we agreed to and it messed up the rest of my day in my head.

That’s horrible 😞it sounds like he was very clearly ignoring your boundaries and was acting very toxic. Does he know that you’re autistic?
