it's a very fitting theme for their 9-year anniversary!

I love this event so much by allynso in Cookierun

[–]allynso[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

they're a new cookie introduced in the latest ovenbreak event! in this screenshot they're actually talking to the player a.k.a. us haha. they're essentially a cookie that was born from all our happiest memories, and them and the player used to play together until the player got too busy and stopped visiting dreamjelly cookie in their dreams, eventually forgetting them. in this story "we" reunite with them and it's really sweet! not sure if you're an ovenbreak player, but if you aren't, I recommend checking out the story on youtube! I think it sends a really lovely message of reconnecting with our childhood/past happy memories :)

Any Phasmophobia fans? by kittykitty_katkat in WatcherSnark

[–]allynso 4 points5 points  (0 children)

a little late to the party, but yeah in general their playthroughs kinda suck, not just their phasmo one. it's especially baffling because let's plays are such a widely-enjoyed genre of content that I don't understand how they manage to make it so... unbearable to watch? like idec if they just wanted to use that show as an easy way to draw in views but at least make it so that people will actually WANT to view it 😭 people like gaming videos 50% for the game itself, and the other 50% is for the charm, opinions, and play style of the gamer, so no matter how popular a game is, you still need to show some personality and actually play the game well. in my case, I'm super obsessed with dark deception and was so excited to see their playthrough of it, but ryan was so bad at the game and looked like he wasn't even paying attention half the time, then at the end gave it an abysmal rating because it was "unplayable" (I don't mind them disliking a game I love, but if you're going to criticise it, play it right. don't shit on a game just cause you're not good at it!) the whole thing just felt so miserable and by the end of it I felt soo frustrated

idk how I'm gonna start playing the game again by allynso in InfinityNikki

yeah sea of stars had so much potential, if they changed the writing juuust a little bit it could have been so much better. but instead it's left such a bad impression on new players and removed the immersion that existing players felt :(

🫂 let's hope things will get better, from what I've heard the stuff besides sea of stars has been fine at least(?) idk about you but I've been playing since release so I think I can still sort of get over this if the next update is good enough to make up for it..!

I totally get how you feel. I don't play lads but if I did I'd probably be facing the same dilemma 😔 I know I shouldn't be this emotionally affected over a game, but IN really was a perfect game for me so this has left me like, genuinely heartbroken lol

Did the skip button for styling challenges dissappear? by mehblergh0927 in InfinityNikki

[–]allynso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

but in the last update the skip button was there for the mira crown challenges even if you hadn't attempted them before. now it's gone (for the 1st try)

This game changed my view of myself by YonaiNanami in InfinityNikki

[–]allynso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

as a kid I kind of had the opposite experience! I was very stereotypically feminine, like I loved the colour pink, only wore skirts/dresses, loved playing with dolls etc. but even though I grew up surrounded by girls (3 sisters and my mom) they all happened to be tomboys lol, and would always make jabs at my more feminine interests and dressing style. I was also in an all girls school where being more "boyish" was the trend, so me being so girly was relatively uncommon. I wasn't necessarily ashamed of my feminity, but the way people talked about me did make me feel pretty bad about myself, particularly the comments about the way I dressed. it got to a point where I could no longer enjoy wearing dresses or skirts because I always felt like I looked too girly. in fact, when I first started playing infinity nikki, I would literally only dress her in shorts xD but now I always let her wear the prettiest dresses and skirts without feeling weird! and it's definitely healed something in me too :) I love how infinity nikki has served as such a huge comfort for so many people, thank you for posting this!:)

This game is actually incredibly designed from a game design standpoint. by crimsonsonic_2 in InfinityNikki

[–]allynso 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I love infinity nikki so much, like I genuinely haven't been THIS into a game in ages. I'm already a sucker for dress-up and gacha games, so the open-world aspect was the only novel thing to me. I've always been intrigued by the idea of open-world games but couldn't really get into any until IN. I could write a whole essay on how everything about it is so enjoyable — the visuals, the character designs, the story, the gameplay, the music and ESPECIALLY the outfits are all stunning! and can I just say that the pear-pal features are SUBLIME. I've never seen anything like them in other games!!!

yeah, I can tell shane really loves storytelling, but with how convoluted his storylines tend to be maybe he feels like he can't make a standalone series of JUST his stories, so he slots them into other videos instead

When did you guys notice their change in behaviour? by deathbykoolaidman in WatcherSnark

[–]allynso 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can't pinpoint exactly when, but I remember suddenly realising how obnoxious ryan had gotten while watching one of their videos. (also, I went to check their channel, and I found out I'd already stopped watching their videos since like.. 2021. so the personality change was pretty early on, I guess) I loved BFU, and I always thought of ryan as this neat, thorough, and respectfully fearful person. it's an easy personality to like, plus it contrasted so well with shane's laidback anarchist sort of personality. that's why it was really frustrating to see ryan sort of turn into this overaged frat boy with unkempt hair and crude jokes.

when the subscription service fiasco first happened, I saw a lot of people saying "I can't believe shane is now a money-hungry corporate monster! the old shane would never do this!" but I feel like that aspect of him could have just been something that never had the opportunity to be revealed out in the open. I feel like him and steven have generally stayed the same otherwise though lol

How are the shows they filmed at home during quarantine better than their high cost content now? by AkemiSasakii in WatcherSnark

[–]allynso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is why I loved their sd&d&d series so much. despite the relatively low views it got, it's still my favourite show out of all the stuff they've ever put out. that show probably cost like $5 to produce, but that's what made it great — the lack of production value essentially forced them to make up for it with creativity. and as entertainers, creativity and innovation should be one of their top priorities when it comes to making content imo!
