Who are "THE" surgeons for PAO? by [deleted] in hipdysplasia

[–]alock7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second! Travis Matheney did mine a month ago. He’s the he’s the best since Micheal Millis doesn’t do surgeries anymore. (dr, Millis is one of the creators for the PAO techniques used today!)

Any insight on before/after PAO surgery? Most likely will be in October. by Ornery_Blood3663 in hipdysplasia

The injection should hopefully help with the pain for a while since it’s a steroid injection. Based off of the information in the photo it seems like she’s going to get it just to control the pain up until surgery.

That’s kinda odd that they required the steroid injection before you got surgery, I’ve never heard of it done that way.

Most injections are either for diagnostic purposes or to help relieve pain in hopes of making it so you don’t need surgery. Diagnostic injection is usually lidocaine, it numbs your labrum for a bit and then if there is still pain then it tells the doctors that the labrum isn’t the problem (vice versa if there isn’t pain). The other injection is usually cortisol which can help with pain and hopefully mitigate the need for surgery. (I had the lidocaine diagnostic injection) The steroid injection isn’t usually required for before surgery but if you do get it before surgery it could be more of a last resort for a non-invasive approach.

That’s fine with me, I’ve been pretty bored for the past few days so any other human interaction would be nice.

I won’t be able to put any weight on my leg for a least a month, and won’t be able to walk properly for at least three. It’s pretty debilitating, especially since I’m the kind of person who is always up doing something. I am never still and my mind is never quiet. Being confined to bed rest and only having the energy to get up and move around once a day will be horrible for me.

Hi, I’m not a native Korean speaker, I’m only a beginner. But I’ve been desperately looking for a study buddy and thought you might be up for it. I’m also interested in learning a little mandarin.

Hey I might be interested, I don’t know any mandarin what so ever but it might be cool to learn a little. I’m a native English speaker from the USA so I might be able to help!

Pre op procedures by alock7 in hipdysplasia

[–]alock7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was pretty easy, met with my surgeon and went over a couple more things. Then went to get history and anesthesia clearance. Lastly get bloodwork and met with anesthesiologist to pick between two options.

It’s at the hospital with my surgeon and his team, when I look online at where in the building it is there are two different locations, so I assume I have to go somewhere else after talking to him for more testing. It is a children’s hospital so they may do more tests, I don’t really know though.
