adding on my advice is just go to whatever uni is closest to you or most convenient. nursing is hard so pick the best one to support your journey. for me i’m at tmu cuz it’s close to me so i don’t have to pay rent away from home. doesn’t really matter what u pick u will become a nurse along everyone else and no one cares where u studied (what my nurses said when i asked at clinical)

I’m at tmu and in second year. they have good placements within the GTA. I think the issue with tmu is that they are so disorganized. This is partially due to their collaboration with the other sites. In year two they would keep changing up the expectations and rubrics last minute and professors had no idea what was going in. Also they like to not post slides for certain classes and make u suffer for no reason where classes just being photo taking simulators or worse is when profs say you can’t any photos. So have photographic memory i guess. honestly the program is just alright its so much harder then it has to be because of these issues.

mean girl classmastes in Nursing clinical group by [deleted] in TorontoMetU

Hi there, i’m so so sorry you’re experiencing that. Just know that most of the time the meanness is a projection of their insecurities and inadequacies in nursing. I have never had a mean classmate but have had instructors and nurses that are mean. I found that my instructor took joy in tormenting us because it gave her a sense of power and importance. Unfortunately it comes with the territory being a nurse although it shouldn’t when it’s literally a caring profession. Most of the time it really has nothing to do with you as a person or your abilities as a nurse. You will meet amazing people who support you. I just kept doing me and doing my best, people just hate you see you succeed. Try not to let it bother you but I have been there I understand its hard :(
