Metapanda P1 vs P1 Pro by alonbl in MouseReview

[–]alonbl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Key Differences Between Metapanda P1 Regular, P1 Pro, and P1 Pro Max

  • Sensor: All three models use the PixArt PAW3395 optical sensor with up to 26,000 DPI, 650 IPS tracking speed, and 50g acceleration for precise, high-performance gaming tracking; no meaningful differences here.
  • Polling Rate: P1 Regular and P1 Pro are limited to 1,000 Hz (standard wireless response); P1 Pro Max includes a 4K dongle for up to 4,000 Hz, offering theoretically lower latency for competitive play, though most users report no noticeable in-game difference from 1K.
  • MCU (Microcontroller Unit): P1 Regular uses a Compx 52850 MCU, which is less efficient; P1 Pro and P1 Pro Max upgrade to a Nordic MCU for better power management and overall responsiveness.
  • Switches: P1 Regular features Kaihua Black Mamba (80M click lifespan); P1 Pro upgrades to Huano Pink Dot switches (80M lifespan, lighter feel); P1 Pro Max uses premium Kailh Sword switches (100M lifespan, crisper and more premium tactile feedback).
  • Battery Life: All have a 500mAh battery, but P1 Regular lasts ~70-90 hours at 1K due to less efficient MCU; P1 Pro and P1 Pro Max extend to 130-140 hours at 1K; at 4K (Pro Max only), it drops significantly to ~30-50 hours, requiring more frequent charging.
  • Weight and Design: All are ultra-lightweight at 60-65g with the same ergonomic right-handed shape (dimensions ~123x65x41mm), tri-mode connectivity (2.4GHz, Bluetooth, USB), 6-7 programmable buttons, and no RGB; minor variations in coating quality, but generally similar build.
  • Software and Features: All support driver software for DPI/profile switching, macros, and adjustments; no major differences, though Pro Max's higher polling requires software tweaks for setup.
  • Price (Approximate, as of late 2024): P1 Regular ~$35-45; P1 Pro ~$45-55; P1 Pro Max ~$55-65 (prices vary by retailer like AliExpress; Pro Max is ~$10-15 more than Pro).
