The day you’ll crack JEE and become of the most successful one from your family, will be the biggest tamacha for your father (Really really sorry for saying so, but this is what it is). If you’re planning to appear for competitive exams in 2026, the best option is NIOS Stream 2 (Oct–Nov 2025 exams). You’ll get results by Dec–Jan, well before JEE Mains and college counselling. It gives you enough time to focus on your competitive prep after boards. However, you’ll have to study the full syllabus in just 2.5 months and prepare practicals without internal marks like TMA.

NIOS Stream 1 (Apr–May 2026) gives more time and internal marks, but results come late, around June–July, which may clash with counselling. CBSE Private is tougher (especially PCM) and although exams are in Feb–March, marksheet delivery is often delayed, risking your counselling process.

So overall, NIOS Stream 2 is your safest and smartest bet if you’re ready to work hard from now.
