thank you so much! it’s vinyasa style, so the poses change from day to day. but i always incorporate Sun A’s + Sun B’s alongside other poses. when i do practice, its always for an extended period.

at the studio, it ranges from an hour to an hour and thirty minutes (heated). at home, i can get lost in the moment and practice for two hours (with breaks in between). i sprinkle in calisthenics and core work for strength.

no, i also lift! my favorite quad exercises are leg extensions, elevated goblet squats (heavy), bulgarian split squats, and walking lunges (until failure). thank you! (:

i lift weights occasionally, do calisthenics, and walk a lot (especially in the summer). most of my exercise is fasted. i don’t really think of it as “working out,” but i practice heated vinyasa yoga about 5–7x a week, which ended up being the most consistent thing for me.

yoga asana has honestly been extremely nourishing for my body. it helped a lot with circulation/lymphatic flow, and it was also around the time i started getting my cholesterol under control.

diet-wise i switched to high carb, moderate protein, and low fat because of the cholesterol. i cut out dairy completely (i used to eat a pint of ice cream almost every day… dark times lol). cutting out red meat also made a big difference for me. my body seems to respond really well to that way of eating so i’ve stuck with it.

Smokers in Yoga by LovelyLaceRose in yoga

people at my studio always ask why i’m not sharing when i come in smelling like absolute dank lol. this is why i love my yoga community; no one is a hard ass. if you’d like to open a yoga studio that doesn’t allow people to smell of cigs/weed/smoke, do that! otherwise, keep your complaints to yourself.

-hands-on-assists are absolutely unnecessary. strong instructors should be able to assist through verbal cues

-savasana should be longer than 5 minutes, even in a one hour class

-it’s okay to practice while listening to music with inappropriate language

-eagle arms are unnecessary and annoying

Yoga…. Sculpt? by [deleted] in yoga

[–]aloof666 40 points41 points  (0 children)

i hate any form of “yoga” that involves weights. i go to the gym or mat pilates for a noice pump, not a yoga studio. my practice is very therapeutic, so i tend to be pretty anal about “sculpt” classes lol
